WWE RAW Results – 2/27/2012

– Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow opens up with a promo for John Cena vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 28 before we get the standard opening video.

– We’re live from the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon as Michael Cole welcomes us to RAW. We’re just 34 days away from WrestleMania 28. Jerry Lawler hypes The Rock’s return.

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan

We go to the ring first thing and out comes the WWE Champion CM Punk.

We get a replay from last Tuesday’s SmackDown with Bryan vs. Punk. Punk awaits Bryan’s arrival but out comes Chris Jericho to the ring instead. Jericho asks if Punk was expecting someone else and the crowd starts chanting for Punk. Jericho says he has something important to say. Jericho thinks Punk is an amazing performer and is one of his favorites. Jericho says Punk isn’t as good as him and isn’t the best in the world, and he knows it. Jericho says he never had to call himself the best in the world because the fans would say it for him. Jericho says he is part of a dying breed of performers who traveled the world and became stars before they even got to WWE.

Jericho goes on and admits he got a chip on his shoulder but he didn’t give a damn because he knew he was good, he knew he was the best. Jericho goes on and says Punk just wants to be him. Jericho calls Punk and the fans Jericho wannabe’s. Punk tells Jericho to stop talking and he won’t. Punk says he and everyone else is tired of listening to Jericho. Punk says he and the fans know how good Jericho is. Punk’s problem is that Jericho insinuated he stole from Jericho. Punk says he never stole and has earned and fought for what he has. Punk brings up Bret Hart and his “best there is” saying.

Jericho goes on talking about what he’s done in the business. The crowd starts chanting for Punk. Punk goes on now and says Jericho never was the man like Punk is the man now. Punk declares again that he is the best wrestler in the world. Punk says Jericho chooses to leave and write books, be on game shows and be a rock star. Punk says he’s been swimming with sharks while Jericho has been dancing with stars. Jericho says he came back to embarrass Punk, take the WWE Title from him at WrestleMania and prove that he is the best. Punk talks about WrestleMania. He says he doesn’t need Chris Brown and Jericho doesn’t need Mickey Rourke. Punk says they don’t need the fancy entrance, the lights and screw Jericho’s jacket. Punk says all they need is a ring and on April 1st, they will find out who the best in the world is. Punk says they may have the greatest match in WrestleMania history. Punk says it won’t be the end of the world, just the end of Jericho’s world. Daniel Bryan’s music hits and out he comes with AJ Lee, John Laurinaitis and David Otunga.

Laurinaitis talks to Punk from the apron which allows Bryan to attack him from behind. Punk comes back and unloads on Bryan throwing him out of the ring. Bryan tries to re-group as Laurinaitis joins commentary. We also see Teddy Long on commentary and he has Santino Marella at his side. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Punk is hitting Bryan with chops in the corner. They go back and forth as we see Long, Santino, Laurinaitis and Otunga at ringside. Bryan drops Punk with an uppercut and drops his knee. Bryan works on Punk’s arm now. Punk gets back to his feet and dodges a kick. Punk dumps Bryan to the floor. Punk runs the ropes and goes to drive through but Bryan calls AJ Lee into the way. Punk comes to the floor and Bryan throws him into the steel steps. Bryan rolls back into the ring as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and Bryan has Punk locked in an abdominal stretch. Punk fights out and Bryan goes down in the corner. Punk with kicks and a dropkick now. Punk clotheslines Bryan and hits a neckbreaker. Punk continues and climbs to the top. Punk hits the big elbow drop. Punk calls for GTS but Otunga distracts him on the apron. Bryan takes advantage and goes for LaBell Lock but it’s blocked. They collide in mid-air and go down. Otunga gets back on the apron but Santino drops him with the Cobra. Laurinaitis gets up and yanks Santino off the apron. Teddy gets up and argues with Johnny now. Otunga and Santino join in the argument as Bryan and AJ start walking up the ramp. Sheamus runs down and attacks Bryan from behind. Sheamus throws Bryan into the ring where Punk nails GTS. Before the referee can count, John Laurinaitis enters the ring and stops the match, calling for the bell. Punk and Ace argue. Teddy comes in and sends Johnny to the mat. Teddy and Johnny have heated words as a referee, Santino and Otunga try to keep them apart. Punk heads up to the ramp and poses with the WWE Title. Chris Jericho runs out and attacks Punk from behind on the ramp.

Jericho works over Punk on the steel. Jericho locks Punk in the Walls of Jericho and drives his face into the steel. Jericho finally breaks the hold and taunts Punk as we go back to commercial.

– Back from the break and Josh Mathews is outside of a trainer’s room. CM Punk is being looked at. Mathews says Punk is more upset than hurt.

– We get a promo video looking at Triple H vs. The Undertaker last year.

– Still to come tonight, John Cena vs. The Miz. Back to commercial.

Kelly Kelly vs. Nikki Bella

Back from the break and Kelly Kelly is in the ring with The Bella Twins. Kelly attacks as soon as the bell rings and they go at it. Nikki slams Kelly and slams her face into the mat for a 2 count.

Nikki with a neckbreaker and another 2 count. Nikki takes the fight to the corner now until the referee backs her off. Nikki charges and Kelly drops her into the corner. Kelly with the head scissors takedown. Kelly slams Nikki’s face into the mat. The Bellas try to do the switch but Kelly kicks Brie to the floor. Nikki rolls her up from behind but Kelly counters it with a roll up of her own for the win.

Winner: Kelly Kelly

– More hype for tonight. Up next is Cena vs. Miz. Back to commercial.

John Cena vs. The Miz

Back from the break and out comes John Cena to the ring. The Miz is out next but he takes the mic. Miz whines about how hard he works and all the media work he does for WWE. Miz goes on and wants a WrestleMania moment. Finally we get the bell and here we go. They lock up and Cena goes to a headlock. Miz turns it around on him and they go at it with Cena in control.

Cena goes for an Attitude Adjustment early on but Miz blocks it with a neckbreaker and a 2 count. Miz continues the offense and hits a knee to the face for another pin attempt. More back and forth until Miz drops another DDT on Cena for another 2 count. Miz keeps control of the match and hits the clothesline in the corner. Miz comes off the top but Cena ducks. Cena starts hitting his usual moves and does the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena goes for the AA again and nails it. Cena applies the STF and makes Miz tap out for the win.

Winner: John Cena

– Cena looks up to the big screen where we see The Rock backstage in the locker room. Rock is watching and looks to the camera. He flashes Cena’s “you can’t see me” gesture and turns the camera off himself. We go back to the arena where Cena celebrates with the fans. We go to commercial.

WWE Tag Team Title Match: R-Truth and Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger vs. Primo and Epico

Back from the break and out comes R-Truth followed by his partner Kofi Kingston. Vickie Guerrero comes out next and introduces the team of United States Champion Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. Finally, Rosa Mendes comes out next with the WWE Tag Team Champions Primo and Epico for this title match.

Kofi starts out with Primo and Dolph. Dolph goes to the floor while the two go at it. Dolph comes back in and takes out Primo. Lots of action all over the place now. Swagger comes in and takes out Truth. Swagger and Kofi tumble out to the floor and there is nobody left in the ring as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and Primo rolls Truth up for a 2 count as Swagger breaks it up. Swagger beats Truth down in the corner now. Ziggler chokes Truth while the referee isn’t looking. Swagger breaks up another pin and gets into a shoving match with Primo. Dolph comes back in and dropkicks Truth. Primo covers for a 2 count and Ziggler breaks it up. Truth fights both men off now until Primo drops him. Truth takes Ziggler and Primo down with a combo move as Kofi reaches for a tag. Epico and Swagger come in and go at it as Truth tags in Kofi. Kofi cleans house and hits a pair of dropkicks.

Kofi takes out Swagger and hits a big crossbody from the top. Epico comes in and breaks the pin. Kofi slams Epico onto Swagger and hits a double Boom Drop. Ziggler comes back in and makes the save. More tags and Swagger applies the ankle lock on Epico. Kofi comes in and hits Trouble in Paradise on Swagger. Primo with the Backstabber on Swagger. Epico takes advantage and covers Swagger for the win.

Winners: Epico and Primo

– As soon as the match is over, the lights go out and the pyro explodes. Out comes Kane to the ring. Kane drops Primo with a big boot. He double chokeslams Epico and Ziggler. Truth attacks from behind but Kane chokeslams him also. Kane makes the ring explode as his music plays again.

– David Otunga and John Laurinaitis are backstage talking when Teddy Long walks in. Teddy says there’s a rumor that Laurinaitis won’t be running next week’s RAW. Laurinaitis says he heard a rumor that Teddy has been fired as General Manager of SmackDown. Teddy calls Laurinaitis a horse’s ass and walks off.

– Still to come tonight, Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes vs. Sheamus and Big Show plus The Rock’s return.

– Back from the break and we get a look at the Zack Ryder and Eve Torres storyline.

– We go to the ring and out comes Eve Torres to “hoeski” chants. Eve says she’s a woman living in a man’s world. She talks about how men bow to her. The crowd boos as Eve blows a kiss and leaves the ring. Eve walks backstage and is confronted by Kelly Kelly. Kelly asks her why she’s a totally different person now. Eve just laughs in her face and walks off. Alicia Fox appears beside Kelly and looks concerned also.

– Sheamus and Big Show are backstage headed to the ring.

– We get the trailer debut for WWE Studios’ Bending The Rules with Edge and Jamie Kennedy.

Big Show and Sheamus vs. Cody Rhodes and Mark Henry

Back from the break and out comes Big Show followed by his partner Sheamus. Mark Henry is out next followed by the WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Cody brings up Floyd Mayweather and shows a clip of Mayweather breaking Show’s nose and their match at WrestleMania in 2008.

Cody starts out with Show but immediately tags in Henry. Show takes down Henry and spears him. Show goes outside and chases Cody in and out of the ring. Cody stalls and backs up the ramp. Sheamus tags himself in while Show runs his mouth to Cody and hits Henry with a big Brogue Kick for the quick win.

Winners: Sheamus and Big Show

– Back from the break and out comes The Rock to a big pop from the crowd.

Rock finally gets a chance to speak and says this is real. He’s covered in goosebumps because this feels so damn good. The crowd chants “Boots to Asses” now. Rock says this may come as a surprise to some in the back but he’s not here every week. Rock says he was here every week when it was his job because he loved it. Rock says he was born and created in the WWE. Rock says if it weren’t for WWE and the fans, The Rock would never exist. Rock says he never said he was coming back for every show and that was never expected of him. He says if someone in the back wants to take it as that, then they can. The crowd chants “Fruity Pebbles” and The Rock smiles, says he loves that chant. Rock says unlike the person in the back, he respects the audience’s intelligence. Rock says the fans know his heart is in the business, he was born in it and he is here live because he loves WWE. Rock says he will always be part of WWE and WWE will always be part of him. Rock brings up John Cena’s name and the crowd boos.

Rock says for years he thought Cena was a phony but finally realized Cena isn’t a phony. Rock says he sees Cena backstage and at catering. Rock says he doesn’t want to talk to Cena, he’d rather smack him with a piece of Kung Pao Chicken. Rock says Cena isn’t a phony, he’s a Kung Pao Bitch.

Rock goes on about how nobody fought for some of the biggest WWE Legends because they were men. Rock says if Cena wants to fight for the guys in the back, that’s fine. While Cena fights for them, Rock says he fights for the fans. Another big pop from the crowd for The Rock. Rock says fans are tired of having a Kung Pao bitch shoved down their throats every night. A “Kung Pao bitch” chant breaks out now. Rock declares that Kung Pao bitch is now trending worldwide. Rock says fans are tired of not being entertained and that’s where he comes in. Rock says he lives to entertain. When he gets together with the fans, they innovate and trail-blaze.

Rock goes on and gets the crowd to do some chants. Rock goes on with more of the same and gets them to chant Cena’s missing balls. Believe it or not, finally, John Cena’s music hits and out he comes.

Cena goes on and says he is the guy who runs Rock down when he’s not here. Cena says he also runs Rock down when he is here. Cena says Rock is an egotistical bitch and wouldn’t care if WWE closed their doors tomorrow. Cena says he doesn’t need notes for his promo written on his wrist like Rock. Rock gets closer to Cena’s face now. Cena cuts a promo in Rock’s face and says he’s going to beat the hell out of him at WrestleMania. Cena leaves the ring and tells Rock to keep trending.

Rock brings up Cena leaving before he could smack the lips off his face. Rock says he knows Cena is back there listening now. Rock says Dwayne Johnson and The Rock is the same man in here and out there. Rock says Cena runs his mouth about being tough but they both know Cena isn’t tough. Rock says the only thing that matters is Team Bring It is going to kick Cena’s candy ass all over WrestleMania, if you smell what he’s cooking. Rock tosses the mic and poses as RAW goes off the air.
