You know I barely remember the Moondogs, but so many of the people who read my column always have a special place for the rough and tumble and dirty and crazy looking Moondogs. They were called Rex and Spot, all we needed was Rover for it to be the most common dog names ever. The Moondogs spent most of their careers in the pre WCW era of NWA, and some time as well in the defunct USWA. They wrestled in blue jeans, sometimes cut off jeans, sporting shaggy blond hair and beards and carrying animal bones around with them. They became notorious for just all out brawls and just matches filled with blood. I particular remember a great match they had with the Fabulous Ones. Maybe some of the readers can catch me up, there was Rex, Spot, Cujo, Spike, think was 4 of them, but I always just remember two of them did most of the fighting, they held the tag titles multiple times and though they could be officially labeled a stable, I just always remember them as a tag team.
I remember then in USWA and AWA, though I just mentioned they were in the NWA, my PWI’s and the few sites I could find don’t have great info, and I am not totally confident in the Obsessed with Wrestling site. I think the last time I saw these guys was over in Lawlers Memphis federation. So to my readers and my fans I know most of you will email me with corrections. But as I get older my memories begin to fade, but I write these columns as a testament to what rasslin was and how great it was compared to what its become today.
I want to say thank you to Shaun, who has been nothing but supportive of me and my column. TWNP was one of the first wrestling sites I ever visited and its still my #1 source for anything wrestling related. I had been offered a column in a other place but declined. What I write I write for myself and my fellow readers who like the past and nostalgia. I fit in well here, and TWNP has always been great to me. So I will stay here, I will be an exclusive writer solely for TWNP, and I just wanted to say that. So once again thanks to TWNP, thanks to Shaun, thanks to the people who visit us, and thanks to those who read my column and have supported me since I began here a few years ago.
Now if I don’t come back till after the new year, I do want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New.
Oh before I forget, how can I not push my efed? We’re about to complete 10 years of being alive and thriving. So visit www.striketowers.com It is the very best fantasy wrestling federation anywhere on the internet, I dare you to find any better.
Goodnight and godbless.
