| After watching Raw this past Monday I can say that the build up to next Sunday actually worked. It was a solid show with storylines progressing to the ultimate showdown of Wrestlemania 24. As Jim Ross said towards the end of the show, “Emotions are overflowing tonight!” True, I just hope that the super bowl of all shows lives up to this hype. I’m sure it will, but then when all of this is over, what comes next? The same old thing? The same old storylines with the same 5 or 6 guys? What will we have to look forward to for 2008? You have to know that the day after Wrestlemania the picture will look something like this (at least what I predict), HHH Heavyweight champion for Raw, Undertaker World Champion for Smackdown, Chris Jericho or Ken Kennedy the winners of the ladder match. Okay, now what? Where will this all lead to? What are the new things to come for us wrestling fans? I don’t know about you but I am tired of the whole scene of professional wrestling as it is right now. In past articles you have read about my dismay for what has been going on and the utter dismissal of most of the titles except the Heavyweight belts and the Intercontinental belt. Why is this? Why can’t we see more of the Tag Team belts, the re-emergence of the Hardcore belt, or even the Cruiserweight belt, how about the Television title that was used so much on WCW? Why not have this belt, all these shows are on television, bring it back for the “little guys” that will never see a title around their waists? We are being force fed the big guys and I for one think it is time for a change. The smaller wrestlers have just as much if not more talent then the one’s we’ve been watching, they just haven’t been given the chance to prove it. Instead, they come out and have to job to the big guys and that’s it. Make a change, you might just be surprised at how well they are received by the crowds. Course the only way they will get over is if they are given a chance and some decent storylines to boot and that's where Vince comes in. But the question here is, would Vince give them a chance? Only he knows this, and as far as I can tell he won’t, unless the fans speak up and voice their opinion on this subject. As long as no one speaks up, he will continue to bring in the big guys to the wrestling scene. Khali is a prime example of a big guy that can’t wrestle. He’s on Smackdown so that they can edit his wrestling matches cause if he did it live, he screws up big time ever match. I have watched him live and I can say that the editing they do for him makes him look like a decent wrestler, which we all know he isn’t. Big Show is another example of the big guy that only has a few wrestling moves under his belt. Enough of the Big Guys!!!! Lets see what the others look like and what they are capable of. Give them a chance for cripes sakes!! What will it hurt, nothing really. They might even get some better ratings out of it. The time for change is now, otherwise pro wrestling in WWE will turn into another WCW of the latter days of the federation- ultimate crap on television. That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time...
