Dragon's Corner: Changes need to be made

The King of the Ring returns on Monday, do I care? No, not really. It doesn’t mean much of anything anyways. All that it is and will ever be, is a guy in a robe saying he is “Mr. King so and so”…whoopy!! Don’t we already have a King? As in Jerry “the King” Lawler? The last King that there was was King Booker and I guess in order to make some kind of a storyline and help ratings they had to revive this particular idea...I have an idea on this whole thing, why not have King Harley Race come down to the ring with a protégé and claim that he is the rightful heir to the throne that is King of the Ring? Harley is a legend and a past king, so wouldn’t that be interesting and get some kind of a storyling going? Well, it would be something.
I hear the Warrior is returning to wrestling but not to the WWE, it’s too bad he isn’t coming back to the place that put him on the map. I have the utmost confidence if he were to show up in the federation, ratings would go up for Raw at least for a little while. The joint needs something to get it going and as we approach the end of April the only good thing to happen so far this year was WM 24.
It was really hard to try to write about wrestling last week because lets face reality here, there wasn’t anything worth writing about. I tried to watch Raw and I didn’t even get all the way through it because of my utter distaste for it right now. TNA’s shows have had more action in them then anything Raw has been putting on as of late. Maybe that’s what I should do is watch and report on TNA from now. I hate to dump the WWE altogether, maybe they’re just in a rut right now and will soon come out of it. This has been going on for a long time now and really it’s getting tiring just watching the whole ordeal and wasting my time with it.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and state for the record that WWE is going to lose a lot of viewers now that spring has sprung and the weather is warming up. Why would anyone want to waste the sunlight and warmth of the outdoors to watch this drivel they are putting out every Monday evening. Go ahead write your letters stating, “If ya don’t like the show, don’t watch it then.” Good idea, I think I will do just that for awhile. I am willing to bet I could be away for 2-3 weeks and the same old guys will still be on the air and the same old storylines will still be commencing. So no loss there for anyone and I get to be outside in the nice fresh air instead of wasting away watching garbage that Vince is putting out right now.
Some are mourning the loss of Joey Styles as commentator from ECW, does this surprise anyone? Now Mike Adamle is commentating in his place. What? What? What does this guy know about wrestling? He’s like a fish out of water as anyone could plainly tell by his horrible take on ECW last week. Even with getting fed lines through his ear piece he still stunk up the joint. My dinner almost came up after listening to him. Vince doesn’t know what he is doing with the ECW brand and this is just another example of putting the nail in the coffin for the brand that used to be worth watching when Paul Heyman was running it. Paul is done with pro wrestling so you won’t see him return. Which leaves Vince to mess up the ECW even more. It’s no wonder they combined Smackdown and ECW into the same venue. What else could they do? The ratings are down for both shows so they put them together to try to get them back to good numbers. So far they haven’t succeeded by any means. No surprise there. Yes, I am bashing all three shows and will continue to do so until Vince pulls his head out of his a** and realizes the product called WWE is going down in flames and will continue to do so until a lot of changes are made. So for now, I will in protest, walk away with WWE for a couple of weeks and hopefully when I return it will be something worth watching, maybe something big will happen at Backlash, yeah right, when pigs fly.
That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time...
