Wait, what? Returns? What the...?I'd imagine that would be your initial response. A few of you may remember me, but for the most part, I recognize none of the columnists I shared and opposed opinions with. I suppose that happens.
I'm not going to write up an impressive description of myself, detailing my great works and conquests in the world of professional wrestling column writing. That would be, to put it simply, retarded. I'm here to do what I do; Talk about the wrestling industry. So let's quit pissing around and get right down to it, eh?
As I sit here at my desk, sporting my khakis and Hawaiian shirt (that's right, it's casual day at the office. Gotta live it up!), I'm reading the report stating that Nick Hogan is having a tough time in the slammer. I'm not sure that "waves of sympathy" would really capture the emotion that I feel while reading that.
I think I would actually call the emotion exasperation, mixed with just a bit of amusement.
Here's the thing... sure Nick, you've pretty much led a life of luxury. Growing up not wanting for anything has probably ingrained the impression that, whatever happens, you're fine because Dad is famous. And, along that skewed line of thought, you've failed to realize that you are directly responsible for your situation.
You were street racing.
You were drinking.
You lost control and harpooned a tree like Goldberg spearing one of his many jobbers.
Your actions have led to your friend, John Graziano, being permanently unable to function as a human being.
And plus... you are in a county jail. For 8 months. My father was in a federal prison for 18 months. He calmly accepted that his actions were wrong, he faced the consequences, lived though it, and was just fine.
From the New York Post:
"Nick's doing really bad. He's struggling to even form a sentence. They have him in a cell by himself, isolated from the general population, because of threats. He didn't understand how awful jail really is until now."
Face it, Nick... you screwed up. You're spending 8 months in a county jail. Because of your actions, John Graziano will spend the rest of his life in a nursing home.
Man up to what you've done. What you're going through now is nothing compared to that.
