A recap of last Monday’s overall rating on Raw was 4.12 for the CM Punk vs. JBL match, wow, I guess some fans wanted to see something different and the ratings showed it. If the ratings can stay up there and keep going up it just might help Punk to keep the title. But, I think I’m speaking too soon on the man lets watch and see how things go in the coming weeks and then we’ll know if the WWE wants to stay the course or give the title back to the jabronis that we’ve seen before. It was a bit of a surprise that Trevor Murdoch was released by the WWE this past week as well. He didn’t even have a chance to do his singing on Smackdown—hahaha. Oh well, another one bites the dust. Do you think he’ll show up in TNA soon? Does it really matter? Anyways, here is the rundown of Raw for this week: Stephanie McMahon implores everyone to work together in this time of distress and put on a good show. Vickie Guerroro is in the middle of the ring demanded CM Punk give up his title to her because she is the general manager of Smackdown and she also wants an apology as well. Hahahahaha, sure that’ll happen…. boy, her voice is like fingers on a chalkboard….she says Edge is close to a breakdown, blah, blah….Punk chimes in and says she won’t get any sympathy from him or anyone in the arena. He took his chance for the title and ran with it. Vickie also says, “You have ruined my life!” CM comments about who else could be in the running for a new boyfriend. She then stands up and slaps Punk in the face for his comments. Vickie is then taken out of the ring…Ding, ding, ding…JBL’s music hits. Whine and cry, blah, blah, blah..(I honestly don’t want to see a match with JBL again.) Cena’s music hits…he says that JBL has the “wasn’t fors” Tells him to shut his mouth and listen to CM Punk. Technically no one is in charge. In 2 weeks the Great American Bash is upon us. Cena recommends a match between he and JBL tonight for the number one contender spot at GAB. Batista’s music hits…he congratulates Punk on his win, he then says hi to Vicki who is at ringside and forgives her for what she has done to him...just kidding!!! Cena recommends instead of a 1 on 1 match to have a triple threat match between JBL, Batista, and Cena…Guess what, Kane’s music hits…Kane wants in…guess what? A fatal four way later tonight…. (25 minutes of talking, no wrestling)… Finally the first match of the night is Rey Mysterio vs. Santino Marella. (Why does it seem as if when you grow a goatee you are a heel or bad? I’ve also noticed that Marella needs to do a few more situps, but he’s still quite a good talent needless.) Rey wins, does that surprise you? It was too quick of a match, I wish they could have had more time for them. I can see why people like Rey, Rey. He seems to be very appreciative of the crowd and to like his career choice. I just hope they don’t bury him in the ranks in this show. Interview with CM Punk and Snitsky shows his face and is in the face of Punk. Punk says you and me in the ring tonight…oh yippee…I could careless amount Snitsky-but he’s a big man, so McMahon wants him on the show… Kelly Kelly and Mickie James vs. Jillian and Leila…aside from them being eye candy, I didn’t care for the match…and by the reaction of the crowd, neither did they… Up next is the fatal four way…or so we thought…JBL’s limo drives out, the limo is locked and low and behold Cena is in it. Cryme Tyme comes out of the limo as well. They then proceed to destroy the limo with bats and a new spray paint job. Ouch!!! Can’t imagine how much this cost the company. Snitsky vs. CM Punk. Unfortunately the crowd was dead for this entire match. I have a feeling they put Punk with Snitsky to see how the crowd would react to this match and if Punk could pull it off. Punk wins of course, but it wasn’t too impressive of a match. If you rate Punk by this match, he won’t have the title very long. Lets hope that’s not the case. Shawn Michaels is out to address what has been going on with him and Jericho. He accepts Jericho’s challenge at Great American Bash. Jericho comes out with Lance Cade. They talk. Jericho asks if he wants to be a martyr for these fans. “We see what’s going on Shawn Michaels, eventually you will be forgotten.” Shawn says, “You know I will always be remembered if I leave. No matter what you accomplish Jericho you will never be me, never…” Should be a good one coming up. Charlie Haas vs. Kobi Kingston. Another match that no one really cared about. A time filler as far as I’m concerned. “yawn” Kobi isn’t bad, but Haas really has no heat on him so the match was another “Snitsky, Punk” match. Not really showing us what Kobi has. Kobi wins of course. Burchill comes out and lays Kobi out with a few moves. Wonder where that’s going? Fatal four way coming up for the rest of the show. They joined in the middle of the match, so who knows what was going on with it during the commercial. During this important match they had way too many commercials so the momentum to really get into it for a viewer such as myself was really blown. I won’t go into detail about what all happened cause I am sure you just want to know who the winner was and that honor belongs to Batista after he pinned Kane. Kane goes bonkers after the match and starts beating on miscellaneous people and Michael Cole and is yelling, “Is he alive or dead!?” Jerry Lawler comes in the ring to save Cole but gets beat down in the process. Wonder who “he” is? Have to wait and see... Not a bad show I suppose. There were many dead spots during the show and it’s with hopes that they won’t do that again. It looks like they were experimenting to see how the crowd would be when they put some of the matches together. One thing is for sure, Snitsky and Haas are not a crowd pleasers to watch. Can we say dead air when they are in the ring? Beyond those few things, the show was what it was a summer show to watch while it was raining outside where one lives. At least it wasn’t a repeat. In closing tonight, did you happen to see the video of Mickie Knuckles aka Moose from TNA get her leg busted? For those with a weak stomach, I wouldn’t advise of it. But if you want to see what some wrestlers could go through when things go wrong, it’s one hell of a shock that’s for sure... That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time...
