With 2009 coming to grace us and 2008 thankfully going away, I am hoping we do not have to see another Cena vs. JBL match for the title again. This my friends has been done to death. I was almost hoping it would have been Orton/Cena or even HBK/Cena, but that didn’t happen. We are still some weeks out until the Royal Rumble, so maybe this JBL match against Cena isn’t set in stone quite yet-cross your fingers and pray that it isn’t. Would HBK be a deciding factor in this match? Would he come out and cause a JBL victory over Cena? In the end thought, I am tired of Cena and JBL wrestling each other, I figured it was all over with some months ago. I can’t figure out what McMahon is thinking if this is the actual Championship match for Royal Rumble 2009, no wonder the numbers for some PPV’s are down, it’s crap like this that we have to put up with. I know I won’t be forking over my hard earned money on this one, unless it’s changed before then. If Legacy is supposed to be the next best faction in the federation, I am not seeing it. I still can’t figure out what in the world is happening with this so called group. Manu losing, Orton getting pinned, and Rhodes has a count out victory in his match, not very impressive to say the least. Will Sim Snuka join up with this rag tag of a group? I have to believe he will, at least he cleanly won his match against Charlie “Snuka” Haas. If the WWE wants these guys to be shown in a light of respect, they better start winning some singles matches soon, or else no fan will really care if they are part of some important faction called, “Legacy.” Goldust and Santino will more then likely start up soon. It will probably just be a “comedy” type rivalry between the two. I’m sure it will be a funny combination to take up some time on television kind of like an Abbott and Costello routine. There will be nothing too serious and nothing to really get our juices flowing for the two while they are in the ring. I suppose if somebody had to do this it was Goldust and Santino. The rumors are still in place that Christian Cage will return to the WWE. There might even be a Jeff Hardy/Cage program coming into the picture. It could be revealed that Cage was the one that beat down Jeff in the stairwell the morning of the Survivor Series, but as with all storylines, that could change. There was even talk about Matt Hardy being the culprit (why would they do a brother vs. brother thing again? Can you remember Bret vs. Owen? It was a good program, but in the end who really believed that they hated each other? To me that is too far fetched of an idea nowadays especially with Matt and Jeff.) But I digress, it might just be a good possibility that Cage will be showing himself in the federation more sooner that later in order to be a part of WM 25. The question is, how long will he remain in the spotlight and in upper level card matches? Only time will tell. Dave Batista had successful quad surgery the other day and will be out for quite sometime. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the ring very soon. 2009 is just around the corner, and I am hoping that the WWE will turn out a decent product for the new year. It goes without saying that 2008 was a year many wrestlers got injured and many storylines they came up with just weren’t up to par with previous years. Lets hope that 2009 is a year that the federation can look up to and say that they were proud to have taken part in--they only 365 days to find out if this is true. That’s my 3 cents worth, ‘til next time…
