Well time to sit here and hammer out another rasslin column. The good the bad and the ugly has happened this week so wer'e gonna deal with all these wonderful moments.
Raw starts off with Ric Flair giving props to all the legends as he should. These guys are all awesome and should be talked about more. After all theyre the reasons these other people are even on teevee ya know. So naturally Jericho makes his appearance and the insults fly. Chris does a great job being a typical heel and its good tv.
Finally we get some real beatdown action as Jericho bloodies Flair like they used to do in the old days and nobody helps poor Ric. Lawler sits there and says how appalling the whole thing is but does nothing...grrrrrrr. Great television moments though folks.
Next we get an extreme rules match with new jobber Dolph Ziggler going against Jeff Hardy.
I must say that was a good match reminescent of the old days when Raw was raw. After trash cans were used to wipe out Ziggler Jeff goes nuts with a chair and poor Dolph aint gonna introduce himself to anybody tonite. A damn fine but too short matchup.
A funny promo for the Cena, Vicki, Show and Edge show by Cena. 8 man MIB warmup match that was very good with everybody showcasing their respective talents...The worlds sweatiest man didnt showcase much but at least he shows up and tries to wrestle every day. Thats something right?
More Orton HHH rehash we've all seen before and the worst part was they again let Randy talk.
Vicki's back in her wheelchair pushed by Chavo. Show and Edge come down and Cena makes em all look like the tools they are fighting over an ugly manipulative skank like Vicki. She is good as the skank though and gets the crowd going as always. I talk a lot of smack about Vicki and really she's a great in ring performer and plays her role right down to the wire every week. Show kills poor Chavo and Edge and Chavo gets the spear meant for Show. Show knocks Edge out and this isn't as bad of a boring waste of time as I thought it was gonna be...yay.
However the promo for HBK and Undertaker was dumb and a big enough waste of time to make up for the Edge one.
Santino gets beat by another girl with his hands tied behind his back and Micki destroys him.hahahaha She sure can rassle though. Man I love her and wanna have her love child! Finally Jerry the King Lawler mans up and calls out Jericho for next weeks Raw. About time someone stood up and did this. Good luck Jerry...yer gonna need it but it will be fun to watch anyway. In closing we get Trips going two on one with Orton and Debiase. Nice seeing Randy actually wrestling for a change because thats what he does best. It starts off well with HHH effectively holding his own against the evil duo until Cody Rhoades comes out from under the ring with handcuffs and a sledgehammer. Again shades of the good old days on Raw. HHH still does pretty well though even cuffed to the ropes then out comes the lovely Stephanie Mcmahon looking dutifully concerned. Poor Steph gets flanked by Rhoades and Debiase and Randy RKO's her while a horrified HHH looks helplessly on. After much taunting Randy smacks HHH with the hammer and Trips still struggles to get at him while Randy does the worst job of acting ever with his stupid faces.
Nice ending to raw but does anybody notice that even though you are cuffed to a rope the cuffs can still slide along the rope? I noticed and while HHH was reaching for Randy as though he couldnt just slide along the rope and get him he just stood there pitifully straining to reach Orton.
Still a decent show though.
On to Smackdown because I missed ECW and am not just going to rehash what some other hack said.
Really not much new stuff on Smackdown.
Another MIB warmup match and this is becoming one of the more interesting events so far for Mania.
Everybody looked good and things are starting to heat up as it ends in a free for all as it should. There are no friends in MIB
Big Show murders Jesse and poor Festus in a damn good match followed by a good Matt vs Jeff promo that was pretty good except Matt tried to talk way too much and isnt very good at it...kid can rassle though.
Great match with Rey and Chavo giving it their all as they always do and Reys win was spoiled by a boot to the face by JBL in a cowardly sneak attack. Nice job as always by JBL being the bad guy though and we all love to hate him.
I never saw more white rednecks yell whass up in my life than when R Truth came out and I'm a Texan so I know my rednecks. Another great match with him and Matt Hardy with both athletes putting on their best show and of course Matt wins.
Carlito and Primo had a match with Miz and Morrison and two girls to make it interesting...I really cant yet get excited about the tag competition because it aint what it used to be...nuff said.
Gail Kim returns and she is as good as ever and destroys Michele and Maryse. I still want to see an all female show instead of ECW or some of the other rot that invades my teevee every day. I would watch the hell outta that.Yes I would.
And finally,mercifully the HBK “tribute” to Undertaker...HBK is sooooo gonna get his butt handed to him at Wrestlemania and it will be a hell of a match. Probably the best one in the show and I can't wait.
Like or hate it thats my opinion
