 Winter's Storm-Nothin, But Distain

The Draft begins next Monday and all Superstars are up for the move…. I have already stated in a past column that the draft seems senseless because all the wrestlers are going to the different shows as it is now, so why even have one? Look to this Friday’s Smackdown results and you will see what I am talking about. But alas, there will be a draft and here are (some) of my predictions I have as to the outcome of this ridiculous idea the federation has right now. HHH will stay get off of Smackdown and go to Raw, Cena will go to Smackdown (can’t have two champs on the same show, can they?-if they did, that would change things up for once). Batista will stay on Raw with his return from Monday night. Orton and Priceless will stick around on Raw and continue the silliness with the McMahon’s/HHH/and now Batista. Morrison will probably end up on Raw then the Miz will be relegated to Smackdown, yes they will get split up-why not, the tag team division stinks right now as it is so why not get rid of one of the better teams? Stupid on WWE’s part, but we have come to realize they don’t do many smart things as it is.

It’s looking as if Raw will be the “A” brand again, Smackdown the “B” brand and lastly ECW the “C” or crap brand as I call it. All the big-wigs will be on Raw whilst some of the older guys and mid-carders (with maybe a big shot or two) to help out the ratings on Friday night. ECW will have the up and comers on the show and maybe have a big wig show up a time or two to boost ratings. It’s hard to say where Santina/Santino and Phoenix will end up, but either way, it appears as if this will be the comedy sketch for any show they are on. I’m hoping the guy is getting paid more for wearing that cheerleader outfit then he was just being plain old Santino. The Colons-who am I kidding, I don’t care about them and where they end up. Nor do I care what happens to the tag team championship anymore. The belts could be thrown out for all I care. I feel as if that is what Vince wants to do with them anyways, so by all means, toss ‘em (so much for the history of any of the tag team belts, so long).

Whatever happened to Mike Knox’s push, or Kozlov’s for that matter? How about Kennedy, is he ever going to return? If he does will we care? Anyway getting back to the draft, I can see Umaga going to Raw, Goldust, Charlie Haas and Jim Duggan to Smackdown. Kofi won’t be sticking around Raw (I hope), Rey Mysterio is a toss up but they have to have some sort of a name for Smackdown (aside from Cena) so I’m sure he will go there. Cryme Tyme will jump ship to Smackdown as well. Nothing else really comes flying at me, Cause as I look at the lineup at all the brands they should stay where they’re at. The biggest changes will be between Smackdown and ECW and their rosters. With the bigger names on Raw, the federation wants to make that their flagship once again and get the ratings back up for that show. After all, Raw is Vince’s favorite child.

There has been so much distain with the WWE as of late that it’s a wonder they are even getting people to purchase the PPV’s they’re putting out. Crap product for a big price. Good luck selling the fans that one guys-although there are plenty of dumb fans that don’t care how much money they fork over for their “wrestling.” As long as something is on, they will watch it and veg in front of the television. I am not one of those fans. For a Monday after Wrestlemania especially 25, you would’ve thought the rating would’ve been close to the mid-4’s or even a close 5, nope. 3.9 was the final rating. Not so bad, but they should have done better then this. The fans I figure still want better storylines and more wrestling then all this “jibber-jabber” they do on every show. Hence the reason for low ratings. I know I would love to see more wrestling in the future. That’s one of the main reasons I channel surf during any of these shows. It used to be where I was glued to the station for the two hours they were broadcasting and not even touch the remote. Now that isn’t the case. I usually switch over to Heroes on Monday night and then Friday Night Lights on Friday night during Smackdown. What does that say about the state the WWE is in? It tells me they need to get their act together and start bringing us “thinking” fans something that is worth our time, or we will switch off.

That’s my 3 cents worth, ‘til next time…
