Open mouth and insert foot-Hulk Hogan should have done this before he commented on his wife in the lasted go around with her. He commented about how he now knows how OJ Simpson felt about allegedly murdering his wife and why he allegedly did it. He even said that he could have turned everything into a crime scene. Hogan is extremely pi##ed that his wife’s boyfriend is driving around town in his Escalade, living in his home and sleeping with his wife. But of course he has now backtracked and said that he in no way condones the O.J. situation. He was just frustrated with his own situation. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and just shut your mouth when you’re a celebrity because making these kind of comments will not help Mr. Hogan’s cause to say the least. I always thought that when you’re a celebrity you are held to a higher standard then anyone else because your entire life is under a microscope for all to see. The draft has been done to death, so I won’t say much about it. No surprises-HHH on Raw, Mysterio to Smackdown, Undertaker stayed on Smackdown. Whatever. I’m sure you will see them on the different brands anyways. An example of this very thing is on Smackdown this week. That’s why it’s futile to even care about “the draft.” I know it isn’t much, but I am hoping that Christian will win the ECW championship at Backlash against Swagger. To me Christian has the talent and charisma of any HHH’s or Cena’s or Edge’s out there. It’s too bad Vince isn’t giving the man much to work with when it comes to oppurtunities to show the fans what he is made of. He can cut a promo like no one’s business, and it doesn’t hurt that he can put on a hell of a good wrestling match as well. The main reason why I will be discussing TNA is not to say that it is a better show then WWE-it just needs a chance to flourish. No, the reason is because I want to write about more then just the WWE. I am fully aware that there are many wrestlers in TNA that are older and we have seen them a lot in other promotions, including the WWE. I am aware of their ages and where they have been. The thing is, not everyone wants to read about just the WWE, hence the reason for writing about a different federation. If I could get ROH, I would be writing about that as well. But alas, I am in an area of the U.S. that doesn’t get their product, so TNA will have to do, at least for now. There has to be something else to talk about then the stale federation of WWE and so we come to TNA. It lacks a lot of pizzazz, but I am at a point where I am just tired about ranting and raving about how disgusted I am with WWE. So this brings me to the PPV coming up this Sunday for TNA called Lockdown. There is a title match with Sting and Mick Foley, Team Angle vs. Team Jarrett -for those not in the know-Team Angle has Kurt Angle, Booker T, Scott Steiner, and Kevin Nash (yes he is still around). Team Jarrett has Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and a mystery partner. Team 3D is going against Beer Money, Inc. for the tag team domination. Black Machismo vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed vs. Kiyoshi vs. Suicide in the X-Division. There’s a women’s championship match with Awesome Kong vs. Angelina Love vs. Taylor Wilde. I have followed the women’s division in TNA and these ladies are far superior to what is in the WWE so I rarely if ever change the channel when they wrestle. A Queen of the cage match with ODB vs. Madison Rayne vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt. And a New Japan Jr. Tag Title match with The Latin American Xchange vs. No Limits vs. The Motor City Machineguns. I only bring in the matches and no guesses at this time. Many may not care about TNA and to them I say, oh well. There is more in this wrestling business then just WWE. It’s too bad that TNA can’t hit more homes then they are right now because it’s a pretty decent show. But not everyone has cable or satellite, so there is no way for them to really see how this federation is stacking up. At least they aren’t burying their tag titles and breaking up the tag teams every other day. If you haven’t given TNA a try I recommend it, what have you go to lose? It’s on Spike Television at 8pm on Thursday nights, you might just like it. Or go onto YouTube and type in TNA wrestling and you’ll see matches on there as well. The WWE isn’t the only game in town ya know. I can only watch so much of HHH and Randy Orton before my eyes begin to bleed. The reason Mickey Rourke backed out of a real match at WM 25 was because if he had, he said and I quote, “If I took time off at this point in my career and did the wrestling, I wouldn’t be taken seriously in the acting world again.” I guess being in the ring at WM for the short bit of time that he was doesn't count. Speaking of Mickey, if you haven’t seen the Wrestler yet, go see it. It’s a great movie. That’s my 3 cents worth, ‘til next time…
