Greetings sports lovers and welcome to the world of the insane. Wow, four WWE programs on in one week. Who woulda thunk it? Not me thats for sure since in an hour long show you get only thirty minutes of wrestling at best and a lot of commercials are sold during the other thirty. Superstars was a good show though and the wrestling that we did get to watch was damn good. Its good to see some entertaining matches instead of the same old grudges and throwaway matches that nobody cares about. WWE was giving us a lot of trash there up until after Wrestlemania but now things seem to be back on track. It would appear that someone out there in WWE land is finally listening to their critics and giving us what we want. Yay for whoever that was. Superstars was more in the vein of the old ECW than the new ECW is and the three matches were all good and fun to watch. Except for the part when Shane Mcmahon set up his trashcan for his coast to coast move and the announcer said” Is Shane going up?” Of course he is man, thats what he does. Shane vs Cody Rhoades was a good match and shows why WWE is doing the smart thing by keeping Rhoades in the spotlight. The kid comes from one of the best wrestling families out there and has a lot to live up to. Many people out there don't like Goldust now or didn't like him even when he was at his peak but he was a real showman and Dustin could wrestle good too. I don'tt even have to tell any of you out there about The American Dream Dusty Rhoades because if you don't know about him you wouldn't even be reading this. Heck man even their sister was good. Anyway Shane and Cody had a fine match and they both sold each others stuff convincingly enough. Vince's kid proves he can still get in there with the best of them and his win was inevitable. Sadly though, the final camera angles caught him in his coast to coast with his feet not even hitting the trashcan and to make it even worse they showed it again in slow motion. Now we all know that Shane isn't really smashing the guy in the face with the trashcan but we want to think he is. And most of the time when he does this move it is sold way better and the trashcan gets pretty much dented on both sides. Maybe Shane was tired or maybe his feet slipped when he jumped but shame on the editing staff for showing that bad camera angle not only once but again in slo mo. The steel chair shots looked very painful and Cody sold them very well and you could tell that Shane had about all he cared to take from Rhoades and hopefully this will mean that this whole storyline is just about over. We'll know for sure after Backlash and I for one would like to see these guys wrestle someone different. The return of Batista will figure into this equation somehow and I'm sure they will keep things interesting. I could see Christians win over Finlay coming all the way from here in Detroit and its time for Christian to finally get some gold. Maybe not at Backlash but look for Swagger and Christian to have a great series of matches. Their styles flatter each other and both are top rank wrestlers. Christian is still young enough that he doesn't have to sell to the new kids yet and in my opinion can hold the Championship for ECW quite capably. The guy cuts great promos and is fun to watch. Not to take anything away from Jack Swagger the all American...American. This kid can do the job too and comes over pretty funny as well. Back to Finlay though because to only give him a small mention would be an insult to another great wrestler. He looked good in the ring with Christian and sold the match well and his little partner the midget did a good job of banging on the mat and screaming at ringside. The killswitch was perfectly executed and sold so well by Finlay that I thought he was actually knocked out and maybe he was for a minute. Good to see the two guys shake and part as friends at the end too. That is something not done enough and there have been times in wrestling history when the handshake between rivals really meant something...of course sometimes the handshake is pulled back at the last moment and the guy gets a kick in the gut and a finisher...Austin for example. What can I say about an Undertaker match but that the big man still hasn't lost a step in the ring and is as scary as ever. How would you like to flip someone off in traffic and have this guy climb outta his car at the redlight and drag you out of your window and toss you on the roof of your car head first? It could happen too. Some time some where somebody surely has made the unfortunate mistake of pissing Mean Mark off and regretted it. You know they have. Anyway Matt Hardy didn't stand a chance but still made it look good. Matt and Jeff are true professionals and know their roles in the business and luckily for Matt he decided against taking that steel chair in the ring cuz he would have had to eat it. When Matt threw in the towel or chair as it were and decided he had taken enough of a beating and was trying to escape from Undertaker the interference by brother Jeff drove him right back into the waiting arms of Taker and he got the devastating chokeslam he so deserved. Beautiful to watch too as were all the matches and I give the Superstars show my seal of approval. Lets keep up the good work WWE I actually have high hopes for Smackdown tonight too. Things are picking up in the WWE and its about time. Bye Bye A Fan
