A good Chris Jericho promo on what he says is his last Raw ever as he moves to Smackdown and Chris berates all the fans as a good heel should. He's the best thing that ever happened to Raw and we're gonna miss him when he's gone. Well all I miss is the old Jericho back when he was calling Stephanie a trashbag ho and all that. He should have stayed retired.

Ricky steamboat comes out and kisses the fans rear ends and thanks Jericho for giving him the opportunity to have the one last match at Wrestlemania and seems genuinely sincere in a scripted way but Jericho is less than gracious and he insults the dragon as usual. Jericho issues a challenge at Backlash for Steamboat and I guess its not Rickys last match after all.

Cena comes out and has heard enough and announces that Jericho will have to face him tonite in what I am sure will be a useless waste of time match.

As I am watching this match all I can think is why is this stupid match even going on when there are so many talented people backstage just standing around talking. Nobody cares about Cena and Jericho fighting, the wrestling is bad...they are stinking the place up which is a good trick in London.
This horrendous match ends when Edge interferes and spears Cena then Edge pulls off a terrible con chair to that doesn't come off well at all. You can totally see that the chair never touches Cena. Not that its supposed to but it can be faked way better than that. Followed by a lame Edge promo to end a lame overall waste of time. Nobody cares about Edge-Cena...we all know Edge is taking time off and will not win at Backlash Yeeeeesh what a crapfest this whole thing has been.

In other news we get a very short and pointless Batista and Chavo match where Chavo lasts about one minute and gets powerbombed and three counted. Then he gets another powerbomb after the match is over...thank you sir, may I please have another.

Also we are treated to a short Kane and CM punk match that sucked and Kane has to job for the flabby Punk. Useless, utterly useless waste of a perfectly good Kane but at least the big man gets another paycheck.

Santino-Santina promo that again goes way too long. Santina can't kiss Khali because she has herpes or something but Beth Phoenix fixes it so they can kiss at Backlash. Whoopee...

In what was a not very well executed match womens champ Melina faces Phoenix and wins with an impressive finisher for the pinfall and it looks like Melina injures herself because she was actually crying at the end of the match. Usually I speak up for the womens division but you can't expect every match to be perfect and this one wasn't. I did feel bad for Melina because it sure looked like she hurt herself and she is usually awesome.

Rey-Big Show in a match that was all Show and no Rey. Another useless waste of TV time and nobody cares about these two fighting anymore. Man WWE was doing so good last week and now this crap. Could it be because they are in England or are they just in a transitional phase because of the draft? Hell if I know but I can hear it suck all the way over here in Detroit.

Finally the main event and it's a good one. It looks to me like Triple H and Orton have been reading my articles and have decided to pull out all the stops and give us a good match. Or maybe they were watching from backstage and could sense that Raw was losing the audience and were trying to salvage the program. At any rate they put on a helluva match. We got trashcans, steel chairs and they even used the ring steps in an offensive manner. Reminiscent of the old Raw except for the blood. HHH was killing Orton till Priceless ran in to save Randy and started stomping HHH in the ring. Shane runs in for the save but still Legacy was too much for HHH and Shane. Batista runs in awkwardly and accidentally spears Shane and during the confusion Orton delivers the RKO to HHH for the win. As Legacy limps up the ramp and Randy makes his stupid quasi evil faces the good guys stand united...or are they? Tune in next week folks and we shall see just how united they are. With any luck after Backlash this whole horrible HHH Orton thing will end and these guys can move on to bigger and better rivalries.

On to ECW...Finlay and his son the leprechaun Hornswoggle start off the show with the announcement that they are breaking up the band cuz Hornswoggle is going to Raw next week. The little guy wants to rassle tonite and they are interrupted when Tyson Kidd and Natalya come out and berate Hornswoggle mercilessly. This chick thinks the name of her uncle Brett Hart still carries weight in WWE but she is mistaken. Actually she's lucky Vince lets her work for him at all. The leprechaun bites her on the butt and they have a match of sorts. Hornswoggle wins with a roll up while Finlay prevents Tyson Kidd from interfering and they have a fun in ring celebration with three lucky kids...except for the kid who's mom made him wear those awful gun range ear protectors and ended up making her kid just look stupid. Some moms ruin their kids like that and then wonder why the kid goes crazy when he hits his teens. Live and learn moms of America...

Evan Bourne vs Paul Burchill and his ugly sister in a good match that starts off fast. Bourne takes a lot of bumps and sells the match very well. Although the match went way too long it ends well with the shooting star press and a win for Evan Bourne. This kid has a ways to go but is very impressive and will be a star if he stays healthy. Another superstar of the future and Burchill wasn't too bad either.

Koslov vs yet another unknown local in a useless waste of TV time match that goes about thirty seconds. After his win Koslov gets the mic and spouts off in some foreign dialect that makes no sense to anybody. As if we don't already have enough no english speaking foreigners in our country and on our teevee we gotta watch this clown now. Enough with the Koslov already...either give him someone interesting to rassle or sell him to TNA.

At the end of the show we get one of these contract signing things between Jack Swagger and Christian. Swagger comes out in an ill fitting suit and Christian comes out dressed in casual hip attire. Lots of Christian chants from the crowd. Swagger takes his mic and talks a lot of self serving smack while Christian eyes him with a determined and serious look on his face. He lets Swagger ramble on for awhile then finally rips on his stupid suit, dumb haircut and the weird way Swagger talks...and he does seem to have some sort of speech impediment doesn't he? Swagger is the typical jock meathead and gives Christian some sort of goofy drooly smile then slams Christian thru the contract table. Followed by more moronic grinning and Jack thinks he can beat Christian easily...We will see soon enough and I look forward to an entertaining series of matches between these two guys. Swagger is good in the ring and Christian has always been good.

All in all a good ECW show and it was way better than most of Raw.
