Hello again, its time for another edition of my little rasslin report and this time I want to go over this weeks Smackdown show and offer a few opinions and suggestions for the people at WWE.

We start off with another brilliant Chris Jericho promo where he tells us how great he is and how lucky we are to have him to look at on our teevee's. Jericho has this down pat and is always fun to listen to even though he is on the down side of a useful wrestling career he is still a welcome addition to the show

Next in the battle of the ego's Edge comes in and tells us just how much better than Jericho he is and even though we all know that Big how won the title for Edge at Backlash Edge fails to mention that fact. Another great promo but the clock is ticking here and I ain't watching the show to watch people talk.

Oh great now Punk comes in and pisses Jericho off and Chris stomps up the ramp all angry and stuff giving Punk the chance to remind Edge that he can cash in MIB any time he wants to and maybe he will Tonie...yeah right, like that will happen on a free show. Anyway they have a match tonite so we will see. Oh by the way that was 20 minutes of promo...20 minutes.

Moving ahead to the main event Punk and Edge have a very good match and its hard to tell who will win. These two are solid performers and entertain the viewers with all their best stuff. At the end Punk finally hits the high knee and takes Edge out. He announces that he wants to cash in MIB and take the title but before the bell can ring to start the match over Umaga runs in and destroys Punk. Edge wakes up and staggers over to beat Punk over the head with the briefcase but is attacked by Jeff Hardy who is the number one contender for Edge's belt at Judgement Day. Jeff hits the twist of fate and a swanton bomb on Edge. A great ending for the show and two good matchups for the future. Its high time they started making new storylines and giving us a rest from all the boring ones we have had to endure in recent history...however the constant bombardment of commercials during the main event sucks and they really need to stop it. Really they do.

In other matches we get John Morrison vs Shelton Benjamin in another damn fine match. These two are some of the best on the show and put on a heckuva show. Morrison is doing very well in singles matches and will continue to shine in the business as long as he stays healthy. Later in the show there is a good promo where Jericho slaps Morrison and an enraged Morrison beats the hell outta Jericho. This is an excellent opportunity for Morrison to move up in the business working a program with Jericho since Chris is on his way out as far as his ability to perform in the ring is concerned but Jericho still can do good for the company jobbing for the new guys. Sorry Chris, sad but true.

After Morrison hits moonlight drive and pins Benjamin we have to sit thru 10 minutes of commercials and random backstage crap then they go to a 4 way number one contender match for a shot at Edge's title at Judgment Day. Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Kane, and Jericho put us thru 7 minutes of intros and commercials before starting the match. 2 minutes of wrestling later they break for 4 more minutes of commercials. Overall its a good matchup but Kane gets eliminated first naturally cuz WWE is totally not going to let Kane have anything ever again for some stupid reason and the big guy loses his cool and destroys the ring steps and then throws chairs into the ring before being driven off by the ref...as if in the old days a mere referee could EVER toss Kane outta the ring. Then Jericho gets DQ'd for hitting Rey with one of Kanes chairs and leaves the area indignantly. 4 more minutes of commercials then Jeff and Rey finish the match off very well as they are both fun to watch and work well off of each other. Hardy wins and they do the handshake thing and Rey holds up Jeff's hand as the winner. Jeff Hardy vs Edge at Judgment Day should be good if they give them a clean finish but probably they wont.

More promos with Edge and Jericho yelling at a clueless but so hot Maria and tons of commercials later we get yet another promo. This time cryme tyme hosts a dance off between Layla and Eve Torres that turns out to be little more than a whore off between the two chicks...not that I'm complaining...this ends with the obligatory catfight we all knew was coming and was pretty damn entertaining to watch from where I was sitting.

More stupid promos and commercials before the MVP and Dolph Ziggler match and MVP has some broad from The View in his corner for some ratings grabbing. They have a good match and both guys look good in the ring. They both are doing very well in the business but need better opponents than themselves and some build up with whoever gets put in a program with them. There are far too many people on the smackdown roster just standing around backstage and its high time WWE started making interesting rivalries with some of them and guys like Ziggler and MVP. Really we would much rather see some good matches than all these lame promos and rehashes of stuff we have already seen ten times.
Bye Bye
