Quick TNA Rundown from May 14th, Mick Foley comes out and plugs some “disturbing footage” of him and Jeff from Nashville, which will be shown later in the show.Samoa Joe beat Eric Young. After the match Joe took Eric backstage to show him his Nation of Violence. Is this the continuation of the heel turn of Samoa Joe? Awesome Kong beat Cute Kip in a Stretcher Match! It was surprising because I didn’t think we would see Kip in the TNA anymore. Jobbing to Kong isn’t bad, but does everyone else have a feeling that he will be doing the job more often now for other wrestlers? Foley shows the footage and it begins with Jarrett giving a tour of the Asylum in Nashville. Foley came up out of nowhere and then destroyed Jarrett around various areas. Mick is now in my eyes no longer a face in this federation and with that being the case will they refer to him as Cactus Jack now? Team 3D Invitational Tournament Semifinal Match the British Invasion defeated Amazing Red & Suicide. MMG interfered during the match, which enabled the Invasion to get the win. The Guns took down Red & Suicide post-match and then Lethal Consequences came to the ring. Lethal got on the mic and said they were going to unmask Suicide. The four got a hold of him and Lethal tried to unmask Suicide, but it wouldn’t come off. Daniels ran out and made the save he and Suicide shook hands afterwards. Is Frankie Kazarian Suicide??? That’s a question you might consider when thinking about how Suicide wrestles and his mannerisms in the ring. Daffney beats Raisha Saeed in a Knockouts match. Not so bad, but not up to the caliber I have been used to with the women’s division in the TNA. WWE and Judgment Day-yeesh…. World Heavyweight Championship - Edge (c) vs. Jeff Hardy-If you thought Hardy was going to win, you would be wrong, oh very wrong. I’m sure they didn’t give him a win because of his lack of signing the extension on his contract. The federation gave him a prime spot just to show him they want him to stick around. Edge remains the champ and will for sometime to come. Still a good match though. WWE Championship - Randy Orton (c) vs. Batista-Gosh didn’t see this ending the way it did-by this I mean Ric Flair showing up at the end. I was thinking HHH was going to come out and make the save and have it be a HHH/Batista team-up for Raw and then that would lead to a heel turn by Batista….I wasn’t surprised to see that it ended in a disqualification by Orton. Sure Batista won, but not the title. To me they better not have Flair be in a match on Raw because he needs to stay retired…he’s a great wrestler, don’t get me wrong, but they did the big deal leading up to WM 24 for him and on Raw the night afterwards with all the wrestlers goodbyes. Don’t muck up this memory WWE whatever you do. Maybe the HHH thing will still come to fruition being that Flair should stay retired and H would take his place in the match. Legacy vs. HHH/Batista in a handicap match for Raw…you just never know. ECW Championship - Christian (c) vs. Jack Swagger-Thank our lucky stars that Swagger lost this match. He still has a lot to show us fans and to have won this back would have been a travesty. Christian needs to have a better competitor to go against in the ECW. The roster is light on that aspect, but here is two suggestions-Evan Bourne or Tommy Dreamer. Intercontinental Championship - Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Chris Jericho-619 by Mysterio for the win. This feud won’t be over by a long shot I’m sure. Jericho was his usual heel self which was probably the best thing he ever did instead of being a face. Whenever he is wrestling, you can be guaranteed a spectacular match-and he and Mysterio did deliver this night. Big Show vs. John Cena-Cena for the win with the Attitude Adjustment and a three count. This won’t be over as far as feuds go. Ugh…..like watching paint dry…. CM Punk vs. Umaga-CM loses in his hometown of Chicago. What is the point of this feud anyways? I suppose it’s to cover the time that CM has before he cashes in his MITB match. It was a decent match, I just don’t think Umaga deserved to win this one. I believe the WWE should start to build momentum for CM to show that he has what it takes to be a future champion again and not just a fly by night like his last title run was to a lot of people. Shelton Benjamin vs. John Morrison-Morrison with the pin. Now that was a match. This is what the WWE needs more of. Morrison was great and Benjamin is still at the top of his game as well. Having Haas was a little distracting, but I guess he needed something to do. The 450 splash by Morrison was amazing to say the least. Morrison just might become the next big deal in my opinion. The Miz and Santino-Not a match, just a time filler really. The Miz took out Santino with a DDT after some jaw jacking between the two. Chavo then comes out and frog splashes Santino then he leaves as well. Can’t tell if this will be a Miz/Santino thing or Chavo/Santino thing for the coming weeks. I still love Santino and his comic delivery, it’s spot on. Judgment Day came too quickly for me and the matches just seemed rushed to be put together for this PPV. Lets hope the writers make us care about the wrestlers storylines in the coming weeks for the next PPV. Oh wait, I’m talking about the WWE here. No HHH, no Matt Hardy, no tag team champions-no self respecting federation should have a PPV without the tag titles being defended, but again this is Vince McMahon’s territory and he wants to bury those suckers as deep as he possibly can. Johnny Fever welcome to the writing circus that is TWNPnews. Don’t worry, I’m sure you will discover the brow beating of D Ray Morton soon. Just take it with a grain of salt and continue to do what you are doing. That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time….
