Hello once again to another jivin' edition of The Squared Circle! I am your host, Mr. Saturday Night Johnny Fever, and I will be entertaining you for the next several minutes. Before I go any farther, let me save you from panicking! I still intend to post my column on Saturday as well, so you'll still have your Saturday Night delight! See, unlike one Diaper Rash Morton, I am capable of writing multiple times through out a week, being the hip cats that you all love, use proper grammar, and last but not least, get my point across without coming across as a puberty stricken 12 year old screaming for attention. Anyhow on to the column! This edition of the Squared Circle is being published because I just got so excited over what, in my opinion, is news worth getting down and boogying over! According to the rumor mill, there is a chance that we will once again have the privilege and honor of viewing the greatest wrestler to ever lace up a pair of boots! Who am I referring to? I'd say most of you can figure it out, but to those who can't, I'm talking about the jet flyin', limousine ridin', kiss stealin', wheelin' dealin' son of a gun, WHOOOOOOOO the Nature Boy Ric Flair! Sadly, however, your host Johnny Fever, has been reading a lot of complaints about said event. This baffles me, to be honest. Yeah they did the whole lavish retirement angle with the emotional sendoff that even made yours tear up a little, and yes a lot of us shelled out our 55.00 to see what was supposed to be his final match, including your host, Johnny Fever. It was the first pay per view Mr. Saturday Night has shelled out his hard earned cash for since Wrestlemania featuring the clash between Hollywood Hulk Hogan, and the Rock, but who cares!!!!!! This is the Nature Boy Ric Flair we're talking about! I don't know about all of you, but since Flair's departure a little piece of my wrestling heart has been gone. Ric Flair has been on my television week after week, ever since I began watching wrestling at 4! Flair is the man, along with Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, Ted Dibiase, Demolition and a couple others, that made me fall in love with wrestling. Oh and before I go any farther, there have been quite a few "retirement" angles for the Naitch, and he still returned to standing ovations! To anyone who thinks Ric Flair should not be able to drop the angle and return, I beg of you please contact me stating your argument. How can you say with a clean conscience that a man who gave his life to us fans, doesn't deserve to do what makes him happy. Ric Flair is wrestling folks! We will never, EVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRR, have a combatant like this again! If he is willing and able to still get out there and steal the show each and every night, why shouldn't he? Ric Flair is welcome on my television anytime he so desires! This man gave us everything, and to the people who are so quick to bad mouth him, Mr. Saturday Night says shame on you! Think back on all of your fond memories as a wrestling fan. I bet that at least 75% of those memories include the Nature Boy! From his classic battles with Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, to the battle of the 2 biggest icons in all of wrestling(Flair and Hogan) Flair has always been there. Diamonds are forever, and WHOOOOOO so is the Nature Boy Ric Flair. Ric has done so much for this business, and please Ric, if you have a few more matches left in that tank, step inside the Squared Circle once again! Johnny Fever for one would be ecstatic to see you compete once again and be taken back to the good old days! You can like him, hate him, but WHOOOOO learn to love him because he's still the best thing going today!!
