If you haven’t heard by now, Edge will be out for quite sometime with a torn Achilles tendon. The WWE has to figure out how to incorporate this problem into their storylines. They haven’t even posted it on their website yet, so they are trying to figure out what to do. Problem is they already recorded Smackdown for next week. It’s going to be tough to say how they will do the storyline. Maybe the announcers will be dubbed in to say something happened to Edge in the back after the match or something like that. With Edge out for quite awhile you’d have to guess the tag belts might just be switched to Priceless as soon as possible. Or maybe they could get a different partner for Jericho to take Edge’s place. I would like to see that happen because Jericho is one of the better wrestlers in the federation right now and to pull the belt off him would be a big mistake.

Finally a wise move to put Evan Bourne onto Raw, but to have him debut and then lose to Orton was a poor decision. If they are trying to boost the guy up the line, you don’t bury him right when he gets on the show. Bourne is a younger stronger version on Rey Mysterio. His high flying abilities are spectacular to watch, so I am hoping they don’t put him in another match like last Raw. Jack Swagger is now on Raw as well-he’s big I will give him that. But to put him on Raw? To me he is a Smackdown wrestler, at least for the time being. (and you can thank HHH for these two guys being on the show, goes to show you it’s not what you know, but who you know.) They also moved the “gorilla” Mark Henry to Raw. Don’t expect the guy to be a heel anymore. It’s looking like he will be a top-tier face for the show. I still say he can’t wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag, I’m just saying.

Another tag team that they were going to go with went by the wayside. Hornswoggle and Goldust are no more. With Goldust going to ECW and Hornswoggle staying on Raw, you know they’re done. Once again, it’s a joke trying to take the tag team division seriously. This division is a shadow of its former self and Vince had a fairly good idea with Jericho and Edge as champs (even though they were never established as a tag team before) but now that Edge is out for an extended amount of time, who knows where it will lead us. There isn’t enough tag teams in the WWE for us fans to care anymore. I have said this countless times in the past and I will keep saying it until this division is back to what it was in the early 90’s, which will probably be never.

I don’t have a problem with Kofi Kingston as U.S. Champ, but to me Evan Bourne would make a better champ in my opinion. I know Bourne still has to show us what he has, but they put the I-C title on Kofi when he came into Raw and Santino as well, so why not try out Bourne for the U.S. belt, it couldn’t hurt. Seeing as how all the storylines change from one week to the next, what would be the harm in him having the title around his waist for awhile? Maybe it would make Kofi step up his game a little bit and to me, I would rather see Kofi as a heel then as a face. Just an idea folks…

TMZ.com reported that Rowdy Roddy Piper was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the early morning hours of July 2nd in Hollywood, California. Piper was stopped by police at around 1:00 a.m. and given field sobriety tests. He was then arrested. His bond was set at $5,000. I have always said, if you’re going to drink, get a sober cab, or walk. You do this to yourself when you drive sooner or later, you get busted, nuff said.

I won’t report on what happens on Raw this week because it was pre-taped and most people that read twnpnews already know the results from it. All I can say about it is--typical. Glad I know what happens so I can either tape it or just forget about it and do something constructive outdoors. Let the e-mails fly….hope everyone had a great 4th of July Holiday!! Some of us poor saps had to work…
