Raw was pretty decent this week up until Randy Orton came out and cried and complained about not getting a shot for the title. I was hoping we were going to get through the entire show without him, I was wrong. To me the episode jumped the shark after Orton showed up. Jesse Ventura is a natural on the mic and having him as the host was brilliant. It was a fabulous idea to have matches that we haven’t seen before. The Cena/Punk match was the match of the night and to me it could have been a different ending with Punk winning, but Cena is the go to guy in the federation right now. Losing to Punk was out of the question for some reason. Speaking of Cena, at the end of the show, we witnessed Sheamus winning the battle royal to become number one contender for Cena’s title. As I’ve said about Sheamus, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. He is a workout buddy with HHH and HHH is very high on on the Irishman right now. With that being the case, he has gotten the chance to become WWE Champion at the TLC pay per view. It’s too soon for him if you ask my opinion. I am not saying Sheamus is a bad wrestler, instead I am saying he needs to be built up more as a major heel before being thrust into the limelight this soon into the game. I can see where the WWE wants to go with him, but he hasn’t really established himself as a main eventer yet. Give him a little more matches, build him up more as an unstoppable force and then let him go for the gold. The federation did this with Randy Orton when he was just starting out too and they had to reel him in and let him be built up as a force to be reckoned with. The same should be said for Sheamus, he’s got time, give it to him. The fight between Orton and Kingston is far from over and I feel in the next PPV’s they will have their match together. When Kingston was given the Intercontinental title early on, I thought it was too soon. I didn’t give him his props, he as everyone else needed to serve his time and be built up as a legit wrestler. They are doing it correctly with him right now. Feed us fans little tidbits that we can nibble on and it will be worth it. Having him go against Orton is a good idea. Orton has established himself and now it’s Kofi’s turn. I expect this to be a good feud for the foreseeable future. My worst fear may just come true and you know what that is? DX becoming Unified Tag Team Champions. Ick… It is apparent that Big Show’s knee isn’t doing well and he may just have to have surgery on it. That might just mean Jeri-Show will have to drop the titles to DX, ugh. I have enjoyed the tag team of Jeri-Show since they took it from Carlito and Primo. When that happened, I was jumping up and down for joy. Finally the tag team division was going to get a lot better, well as good as it can be with how few tag teams there are in the federation at the moment. Anyways, it would be a huge mistake for DX to take the titles. I’m tired of their antics, I would love to see them turn heel, maybe then I wouldn’t mind DX having the titles. But until that happens, the WWE needs to keep the titles on Jeri-Show. McMahon and Jessie back together again for one night. It probably looked good on paper, but as far as McMahon being behind the mic to call matches, it isn’t a good idea. Stay behind the scenes my friend. Jessie was the only bright spot during the calling of the match. It seemed as if he wasn’t scared of what to say and really it showed. Having Jessie call matches along with Matt Striker would be gold. But alas it would only be this one night that Jessie will be doing this, unless something changes that is. In pro wrestling you never know. I can always hope can’t I? Once again the best high flyer on television today was beaten down in a senseless match. If you don’t know to whom I speak, you should be horse whipped. I am speaking of Evan Bourne, probably the most under utilized high flyer in the federation. To me he puts Rey Mysterio to shame. If Rey was in his prime and those two could wrestle one another, I bet the match would be voted one of the best of the year. But with Rey not being 100% and McMahon liking big guys (can we say Sheamus), I am seeing Bourne getting beat down week after week and not getting a chance to move up in the Raw roster. I thought when he first came to Raw we fans were going to be treated to out of this world matches with him, so far, that hasn’t happened. To Evan I say it’s a shame the writers don’t see your talents, I bet if he was in TNA, he would have gold around his waist right now, pity. The preview to the Marine 2 was shown on Raw…I don’t know if I’m sold on it just yet. Heed my warning though, Ted Dibiase, Jr. will turn face before this comes out so that it sells more copies. I didn’t care much for the women’s match, so what else is new? When Melina was interviewed in the ring and the Gobbledy Gooker came in, I wasn’t surprised it was Maryse in the outfit. It sure took long enough to get out of the damn thing didn’t it? Oh well, the whole segment was a disaster in my eyes. D’uh Batista will become number one contender to go after the Undertaker’s belt. If you don’t see this coming, you shouldn’t be watching the WWE. All in all this Raw was vastly superior to many that have been on in recent months. Jessie Ventura is a natural when it comes to knowing how to put on a show and it was great to see him again. I can only hope next week will be the same way, but of course it won’t be. With Vern Troyer being the next guest host you can bet Hornswoggle and they will be “face to face” with one another and DX will probably have a lot of short jokes to spout off as well, ugh… That’s my 3 worth, til next time………(Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!)
