Happy New Year everyone and welcome back to the age of silence column. I'm truly blessed to be writing for this site and it's fans. Wow it's amazing that the year is almost over, and the wrestling year is about finished. This will be a short column but will take a look into both companies and their situations as of now.

TNA had some up and downs but I believe they are on the right track. The wrestlers they have are great and very entertaining to watch. I have truly enjoyed the wrestlers and their ability to actually wrestle. AJ Styles is a very entertaining wrestler who has done an amazing job as champion. I really don't need to say anything about Kurt Angle. Angle will always be awesome to me. I feel as though TNA has the foundation to so some great things. As far as Hogan goes, he will be a good addition if he keeps his ego in check. He has great ideas, but he can't backtrack, and steal the spotlight from the upcoming talent. He needs to promote them, and not keep them buried like the talent in WCW. I feel as though they can compete with WWE because people aren't really into WWE like their were back in the attitude era. I expect big things from TNA no matter what the ratings may reflect on that Jan. 4 date. No matter what happens TNA is on the right track to compete with a WWE that lacks true excitement. Also we never know who's in the works to sign with TNA in the future. It might just make them even more of a powerhouse.

What can I say about WWE. It has really fallen off without question. The matches have been pretty much boring, and the story lines have been dull. I'm not sure if it's because it's PG, or if it's the writers, or even a power struggle of egos in the back. Whatever the problem may be, it's truly killing WWE. Maybe Vince needs to inject some poison like he did years ago when he allowed the NWO in the company. Batista recently stated that the younger guys can't tell stories within their wrestling, and that he is apart of a dying breed, but my problem with this is where are all the veterans at for these young stars? Why aren't they helping these guys truly develop into true stars? However, I don't work backstage, so maybe these younger guys don't know what to do with the ball. Some of these guys do have true talent though but most of them are not worthy of enough to watch after the top stars leave the business. Just imagine life without most of the veterans that are still wrestling. If these younger stars aren't taken to the next level, where will that leave WWE or any other promotion? Though almost every talent had a gimmick back in the day, they were at least enjoyable to watch on the mic, and in the ring. The mic skills are awful now a days for the most part. They read the worst written scripts toady. Everything sounds and looks the same day in and day out. WWE seems like a show that's in it's final days. WWE has lost their identity, and has forgotten what made them entertaining to fans. Bret Hart coming back is very interesting idea because I'm sure the backstage area will be crazy. Hell I would rather be backstage than watching RAW. If this site is right about Bret signing a short term deal, I have to tell you my theory of Wrestlemania matches, but that will be a separate column after this.

As a wrestling fan, I'm truly looking forward to next year because I'm expecting some very good things from both companies. However, I may be wrong since wrestling has gotten to the point where fans will continue to be disappointed by the creativity and the nature of the business, and it's repetition. I know that we are loyal fans, but if we want better, we can't accept the garbage they give us. Remember it only takes one to take a stand and make change. Until next time, and never remain silent. silent_thought21@yahoo.com
