It would be a shame if Nexus had to job to the Raw Superstars at Summerslam this coming weekend. They were on fire on Raw Monday night. They were hammering everyone that they could. It all seemed as if this team is unstoppable from all outward appearances I would say the same thing. To have them lose would be a travesty of justice. Have them decimate team Raw and then have one of the Superstars (Cena) turn on his team in order to have Nexus win. Judging by the crowd reaction to Cena though, I have a feeling to turn him heel would cause as big a reaction from them as when Hogan turned heel and joined the Outsiders to form the NWO. Having a heel turn for Cena would probably mean a drop in merchandise sales for the federation, so unfortunately, there is a good chance this idea won’t happen. I hope it does, it would only help the new guys in Nexus to become the stars of tomorrow as the Raw Superstars are right now. The ratings are a bit better with the Nexus storyline, so it would only stand to reason they would continue with it. If the writers decide to make team Nexus job, it will be an idiotic move on their part. I actually liked the NXT-2 match that was put on. For rookies they are at least better than most of the women performers in the federation-more on that later. I my prediction for who the winner will be for NXT-2 is still McGillicutty (Hennig.) He has so many of his father’s attributes it’s scary. He has the talent to go a long ways in this industry and hopefully someday a WWE Heavyweight championship around his waist as well, something his father didn’t have (aside from the AWA Heavyweight belt.) Only time will tell. The other hope I have at the end of Summerslam would be to have Sheamus still be WWE Champion. I agree Orton is at his strongest right now, but so is Sheamus. To me Sheamus isn’t just a flash in the pan, the crowd absolutely hates him (and to be a heel that is what is needed) and he has some pretty good mic skills as well.
What was the deal with Ted Dibiase even coming out to the ring? No match took place. He ran off with Maryse and that’s it. They are dropping the ball on this one. Maybe once Summerslam is over, Ted will get more air time instead of what just happened. We know he is an able bodied wrestler, and he has the attitude as his father did back in the day, we just need to see more of what this man can do. Even with Melina back, the women’s division still sucks eggs as far as I am concerned. They need to go back and retrain. The crowd was pretty dead for Melina vs. Alicia Fox, so if that doesn’t tell ya something nothing will. The other Diva match was a 6 (wo)man match. Can’t say it was enthralling, matter of fact, can’t say it was anything. Sorry ladies, that’s just how this writer feels. I bet once Summerslam is over, Jim Morrison will heel turn against R-Truth. How do I figure this? With Melina back and Joey Mercury back, I say the chances of an MNM reunion are pretty good-and also his face is getting a bit scraggly as well. A lot of the time when a face turns heel he grows out his facial hair, I’m just saying. The Miz will give his answer whether or not he will join the Raw Superstars at Summerslam on that night. Nah, he’s too much of a loner to help out. He’s been pretty good on his own so far, so why wreck a good thing? I’m not sure just how much Bret Hart will be a factor in the match on Sunday, considering how he looked on Monday night. If he is in the match, it probably won’t be very long.
So here I go with my guesses for Summerslam (matches that I am aware of at the time I am writing this):
Elimination Tag Team Match Team WWE (John Cena, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Edge R-Truth and John Morrison) vs. The Nexus (Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield, Michael Tarver, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young and David Otunga)---Nexus for the win all the way, with a heel turn by John Cena. That’s the way I would love to see it. It will probably turn out that Bret Hart puts the sharpshooter on to Justin Gabriel, the rest of Nexus comes into the ring to beat down Hart and the other Raw Superstars come back into the ring (after being eliminated) to save him to end the show, ugh…
WWE Championship Match Sheamus (c) vs. Randy Orton---Sheamus for the win. If there is any justice in this world.
World Heavyweight Championship Match Kane (c) vs. Rey Mysterio----Kane wins and then Undertaker shows up and tells everyone that Kane was the person that put him out.
3-on-1 Handicap Match Big Show vs. The Straight Edge Society (CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury)—I feel as if SES is losing it’s appeal and Big Show will win this one. Oh well. I would like to see SES win too.
Divas Championship Match Alicia Fox (c) vs. Melina---Who cares…but with Melina back, I wouldn’t be surprised if she won.
Now onto a short entry about TNA and the Hardcore Justice PPV….To me it seemed some segments were forced during the PPV, whereas others were spot on. The wrestling was phenomenal. The crowd was hot for most of it and the ECW chants were off the hook. Will this help to have more ECW things happening in TNA? I do believe it will. So many people were doubtful this couldn’t be pulled off and but I think it was a pretty good take on the ECW legend. I’m sure some of you will tell me otherwise and you can rightfully have your opinion. That’s what is so great about the United States, we can all have our say in what we believe. It would appear as if the ensuing episodes of TNA will have somethings about the ECW guys and the rumor is that RVD will have to give up his title and there will be a tournament to determine the next champ. It’s too bad RVD will be giving up the title, I like him as champ, at least this time he isn’t losing it because of his last title run in the WWE. The question is, who will be the next champ for TNA? I also understand that this coming Thursday will be a hell of a show, so if you like this federation, you better tune in.
