By XXX Jerichol

Hello again, XXX Jericholics. This is your favorite video game reviewer wit a review of a solid wrestling game entitled "Legends of Wrestling".

Finally theres an decent alternative to all the other crappy wrestling games on the new generation systems. Now what might alarm some game fanatics is that its made on the same engine as WWF Attitude, which we all know is a miserable game, but Acclaim made alot of progress with LOW.

Speaking of simulation, lets move onto the games strongest feature, the career mode. Theres a lot of depth for a game that doesn't have storylines. You go around the country to certain citys and win belts for the region there in, at the same time you take advice from your manager. But the thing is its almost the same as WWF Attitude, you face random guys and team with random guys and they don't keep track of who is suppose to be champion or anything. So even though its the best feature of the game it still needs improvement if Acclaim wants there video games to be recognized as big competition to THQ's video games.

Sadly, the graphics for this game are almost the same as WWF Attitude, only a little bit more jazzed up. They should be better considering its on a next generation system but if you were blindfolded, spun around in a circle, whipped, gang-raped, then forced to play the video game you wouldn't know the difference between Attitude and LOW, well, that is if you aren't a wrestling fan and don't know who Hulk Hogan is. While the graphics are subpar the gameplay is........average. There is some choppy stuff like in Attitude but the reversal system if unmatched and the way the match carries on is determined by the way you've been wrestling. For example, if you've been getting your ass handed to you for most of the match theres a better chance he'll be able to reverse your moves and other crap, but if you've been beating on his ass like he owes you money then the bastard has no chance in hell of reversing any of your moves, and if he does you could just do what I did and put your foot through the television screen!.

Another great feature on this game is the sound. Its like "No Mercy" because the sound coming from the victim of a submission hold makes you wince and the referee actually sounds like he's involved in the match. For example, instead of just saying things like "ropebreak" to get his point across he'll say things like "come on!, break the hold!" and so on. Unlike Attitude it doesn't have any commentary, which is a negative because Attitude's commentary was the best of any wrestling game's. But internet fans will groan when they start playing with different characters and realize they don't have there original themes and the themes that they use for substitutes sound all the same.

Nothing special about the CAW. Its lacking in so many areas its not funny, at least in attitude they gave you more then twenty options for each part, in LOW you only get to choose from the wrestlers attire already in the game. Granted my character looked the way I wanted him too but thats because he's the classic cocky, blond heel thats always easy to make in wrestling games.

The match options are lacking too. Theres no gimmick matches at all which really takes away from the arcade interest in the game.

Overall this is worth checking out for the average wrestling fan but the casual fan will find it boring, bland, and a virtual clone of Attitude if they can remember back that far. I know I praised it earlier but after writing a review for it I realize its average.

Extras: 2.0 Sound: 8.0 Graphics: 7.0 Gameplay: 7.0 Overall: 6.5

Recommandation: Rental, if your an average fan its worth the buy if you can find it on sale.
