History: Konnan was born in Cuba, but raised in Miami, Florida. He made his pro debut in 1987, and by 1992 was one of the biggest sports draws in all of Mexian sports, able to sell out 60,000 seat arenas. Konnan started his own promotion, Promo Azteca, and went to ECW where he and the other luchos, like Psychosis, Rey Misterio Jr., and La Parka made a huge impact in the fed. Konnan feuded with the sandman, and even had a weapons match and got caned by "the extreme icon." After being contacted by former ECW buddy, Woman, Konnan and the other Luchos made their way to WCW in 1996, and made an impact right off the bat. Konnan won the US Title from One Man Gang, and held the belt for several months before losing to Ric Flair. After Hulk Hogan made a heel turn in the summer of 1996, Konnan followed suit, and started his new gangsta gimmick as part of the Dungeon of Doom. He teamed with Hugh Morrus as tag partners, but turned on his partner and began feuding with him. K-Dawg then joined the NWO the day after Chris Benoit retired Kevin Sullivan. As part of the initiation, K-Dawg further injured Rey Misterio Jr's leg after a match he had with Kevin Nash. Konnan feuded with Misterio for a while, and Misterio got the help from the Giant to help back him up. After further falling into the mid card shuffle, K-Dawg made his way to Kevin Nash's Wolfpac as his number two man. This shot his popularity up quickly. He became TV champ, beating Chris Jericho, and held the belt for a little while before losing to Scott Steiner. Shortly after, Lex Luger turned heel with Nash, and the Wolfpac left K-dawg in the dust. The turn came when Lex Luger attacked Rey Misterio. The wolfpac then jumped Konnan. THis led to a hair vs mask match at Superbrawl, which Konnan and Misterio lost to the Outsiders. Misterio gave up his mask, but beat Nash clean the next night on Nitro.
