Steiner made his pro debut against Don Kent in Ohio. Scott would next win the WWA (World Wrestling Association) title in 1986. Scott and Dr. Jerry Graham Jr won the WWA Tag Team titles in 1987 when they defeated Chris Carter and Mohammed Saad. In 1988 Steiner left WWA for CWA (Continental Wrestling Association), which is based in Tennessee. Steiner and Bill Travis won the CWA Tag Team titles when they defeated the Cuban Choir Boys in 1988. Also in 1988 Steiner won the Renegade Rampage Tournament, this saw Steiner receive $250,000. Steiner and Travis won the CWA Tag Team titles in 1988 by defeating Gary Young and on Bass. Steiner would win the CWA Tag Team title for a third time with Jed Grundy by defeating Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden; this was in 1989. Steiner then left CWA for NWA and teamed with his brother Rick. The Steiners won the NWA Tag Team titles as they defeated the Freebirds. The Steiner Brothers were the 1990 Pro Wrestling Illustrated Tag Team of the year. The Steiners won the PWA Tag Team titles. In 1991 the Steiners defeated the Freebirds for the WCW Tag Team titles. Later in 1991 Steiner’s left bicep tendon was torn from the bone. Due to the injury the Steiners were stripped of the WCW Tag Team titles. In 1992 Steiner pinned Ricky Steamboat for the WCW TV title. Steiner then vacated the title as he jumped to the WWF with brother Rick. 3 years later the Steiners joined ECW and a year later in 1996 they jumped back to WCW. In 1996, 1997 and 1998 the Steiners won three WCW Tag Team titles. At SuperBrawl VIII Scott turned against Rick and the joined the nWo. In 1998 Steiner won his second WCW TV title by defeating Konnan. In April 1999 Steiner defeated Booker T in a US title tournament. Steiner retired on December 27th 1999, but this was a trick and he rejoined the reformed nWo. At Spring Stampede 2000 Steiner won the WCW US title for a third time. Steiner was then suspended in 2000 for unprofessional conduct. In August 2000 Steiner was injured during a brawl with Goldberg, he suffered an Orbital bone injury. At Mayhem 2000 Steiner used the Steiner Recliner to win his first WCW title. Most of 2001 saw Steiner at home receiving money from AOL, after the WWF bought WCW. Steiner returned to wrestling with World Wrestling All-Stars in Birmingham England in 2001. Steiner defeated Nathan Jones at WWA Eruption PPV for the WWA title. October 2002 saw Steiner sign with the WWE. At Bad Blood 2003 Steiner won a winner gets Stacy Kiebler match.
