Vince McMahon Senior would hire his son to replace the retiring Ray Morgan for the NWA Capital Sports/World Wide Wrestling Federation. In June 1982 Vince McMahon Senior retired and sold the WWWF to the current Vince McMahon. Vince McMahon sent out promotion tapes Nationwide to expand the WWWF from the North East to national. Then Vince McMahon changed the name to the WWF (World Wrestling Federation). The WWF gained national recognition and this lead to Wrestlemania in March 1985. Celebrities such as Mohammed Ali, Liberace and Billy Martin turned up. The WWF became a big thing in March 1987 at Wrestlemania III, where 78,000 people packed the Pontiac SilverDome. Vince McMahon would still announce for PPV’s, Saturday Night Main Event and the weekly WWF programs. In November 1993 Vince McMahon was charged with steroid distribution. Vince stood trial but was acquitted in 1994. Vince McMahon decided to change the WWF’s direction to a more risky product because WCW was winning the ratings war. At Survivor Series 1997 Vince McMahon was involved in the famous Bret Hart screw job, as he called for the bell to make Shawn Michaels champion. This lead to Vince McMahon becoming a screen heel. In 1998 the Mr. McMahon/Stone Cold feud lifted the WWF above WCW in the ratings war for the first time in eighty-three weeks. At 1998 Survivor Series the Rock and Vince McMahon embraced after the Rock won a tournament to become the Corporate champion. The first two participants of the 1999 Royal Rumble would be Stone Cold and Vince McMahon. Vince and Austin fought to the back where the Corporation attack Stone Cold, who was taken away by an ambulance. Vince would then sit at ringside but Stone Cold returned. The Rock distracted Stone Cold which allowed Vince to eliminate him and win the Royal Rumble. Vince McMahon relinquished his number one Contendership for Wrestlemania, and Shawn Michaels declared Stone Cold the number one contender. April 12 1999’s Raw saw Shane McMahon slap Vince McMahon. The reason was that Vince had forgot his priorities. This however was just a smoke-screen as Vince and the Undertaker became friends and Vince helped the Undertaker to kidnap Stephanie McMahon. Stone Cold would defeat Vince McMahon in an end of an era match, Vince was not longer permitted to appear on WWF television. September 14th 1999 saw Stone Cold hit the Stone Cold stunner to Triple H allowing Vince McMahon to become the World Wrestling Federation champion and chairman. Vince would have a lengthy absence after losing the WWF title but would return to assist the Rock as another screw job was about to occur with Shane screwing the Rock. The Rock then went on to the main event at Wrestlemania to face Stone Cold. However at Wrestlemania Vince turned on the Rock. In December 2000, Vince McMahon would fire Mick Foley, become CEO of the WWF and would tell Linda McMahon he wanted a divorce. In March 2001 Vince and Trish kissed infront of Linda McMahon, who was chair ridden. On March 23rd Vince McMahon bought out his arch rival WCW. Shane though would be the ‘owner’ of WCW during the Invasion. However before the Invasion Vince and Shane would face off in a street fight at Wrestlemania X7. Shane McMahon won after a drop-kicking a trash can into Vince’s face from one side of the ring to the other, Linda McMahon and Trish Stratus also turned against Vince. On the same night Vince would align himself with Stone Cold when he helped Stone Cold defeat the Rock. On July 5th Vince McMahon was caught by Linda McMahon with his trousers down, this was down to Torrie Wilson. After September 11th Vince McMahon and other WWF, WCW and ECW superstars paid tribute to those who died in Houston Texas. Vince McMahon would be victorious as his Team WWF defeated Team Alliance at Survivor Series. The day after Vince McMahon reinstated Jerry Lawler. He also opened the Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Club, William Regal would kiss Vince’s ass to become a WWF employee (the only other member would be JR). At the 2002 Royal Rumble Vince McMahon lost to Ric Flair in a streetfight and then brought back the nWo. On March 25th, the day after Wrestlemania X8 Vince McMahon and Ric Flair drafted superstars to Raw or Smackdown. On June 10th Vince McMahon defeated Ric Flair in a no holds barred match to become the full owner of the WWE. In 2003 Vince would return to Smackdown and feud with Hulk Hogan. This would lead to a street fight match at Wrestlemania, on that night Hulk Hogan would win. Vince McMahon would suspend Hulk Hogan who would return as Mr. America. Vince would then feud with Zach Gowen and would win his match against him at Vengeance 2003.
