to catch up-to-date with the rest of the thread, here's updates (and a sliding rating scale):
Expendables. fun action movie. exactly what you expect, and that's a good thing. i'd rate it 15 out of 16 bullets in the clip as far as action movies go.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. started off kinda slow and i was debating on turning it off, but it really picked up steam and was pretty awesome overall. also i'm not big on Michael Cera, but the movie itself was different enough to make up for his copy/paste character. ranks as a solid 5 on the 8-bit scale.
Kick Ass. bought this one. a LOT of fun. had never read the comics. let's say 4 out of 5 asses were kicked.
and, to kickstart some more,
Thor. really enjoyed this one, although i know next to nothing about the Marvel character. the previews made me iffy about seeing it, but it delivered, big time. 7 of 9 realms.
Green Lantern. this had gotten horrible reviews and i hated it based on the previews. the CGI made it look like shit, i thought. a buddy wanted to go, so i joined him, and overall the movie was pretty decent. i went in expecting to hate it, but i'd give it a solid B.
