Releases
« on: December 30, 2010, 06:07:33 AM »
I was trying to find this topic here but apparently there isn't one;

OH well the topic is self-explanatory and in that I'd like to talk on Kaval being released.  They said that he asked to be released since they were only using him as a jobber and didn't have nothing for him.  Why the hell would you build someone like him up to win NXT and then having nothing for him afterwards?  The guy can wrestle and is very popular and how can WWE creative have nothing for him?  At least an IC title run at best or put him in a tag team with Evan Bourne or something.  I don't blame him for asking for his release but what gets me is that it was said that nowadays WWE is more apt to releasing wrestlers...because they feel TNA is no competition.  Meaning that they don't care if TNA signs them because they're star power still won't be enough to give them (WWE) any competition.

Although I have to agree with that I don't think WWE should approach it like that.  What do you guys think?

Isn't winning NXT largely determined by the fans? I doubt they ever really had big plans for the guy.

The fans have some "say" but let's be serious here.  They're not gonna let the fans decide someone over another person who WWE thinks is the one who should (will) win the thing.  Plus the wrestlers have a say in it too..which I would think "behind the scenes" speaking they have more of a deciding factor than that of the fans.

Meh, I don't think they really even care who wins NXT. the show is a complete joke and they know it (Diva's edition anyone?). they obviously LOVE Alex Riley so why didn't they just crown his ass instead of Kaval? That's why I thought the fans had a say in it (not sure if they do or not...i dont even watch it)

also, why would anyone now care about who wins this season since they just canned the previous winner? makes absolutely no sense.

also again, Kaval used his GUARANTEED TITLE SHOT on the IC belt....made him look like a total moron, then he got canned. nice.

Well as I mentioned he got canned cuz he asked for his release.  According to what the interwebs say, they (WWE) didn't have any issues with him, they just didn't have anything for him, and after jobbing to the last guy he jobbed to on SD (Can't remember who it was) he asked for his release.  Can't blame him to a certain degree though, for not wanting to stay if they weren't going to use him (if at all)

I actually had heard the complete opposite, that they were going to can him no matter what and the only thing he asked was to announce it as mutual so as to not lose face.

Hmm..interesting..I got my story...right here...on twnpnews.com (insert Mick Foley smiley here) Either way I think it was a wrong decision on WWE.  I mean Rey Mysterio will not be around forever and if they want to give smaller wrestlers a push, Kaval would've been a good one to do so with...on another note..where the hell has Evan Bourne been?

Bourne is injured, not sure when he's supposed to be back (probably soon). They ran an injury angle on tv a few months ago where CM Punk "snapped" and broke his arm or something.

Guess they're gonna save him (along with maybe HHH) for their return at the Royal Rumble

does anyone else find it backwards that the guys that work in "creative" get to keep their jobs when they can't come up with ideas for wrestlers (regardless of the character) while the wrestlers, who have no input and have to do what they're told, get released?

It's probably easier to release a few wrestlers then sign a whole new creative team everytime they can't think of anything.

It's still ass backwards though.  I mean they were hired so that they can constantly think of how to utilize their superstars to their fullest and push those who are hungry/willing/deserving/ etc.
