SWF: Final Fury 2002 PreviewThe final coutdown has begun to what some are calling the most important event to ever take place in the SWF ring...Final Fury 2002. This coming Friday night, May 3, 2002, "The Attitude" Andy Runyon will put his SWF Heavyweight Championship...and his career...on the line against the career of one of the most loved fan-favorites in the history of the sport...Trik Nasty. It won't be the first time that these two men have faced-off in the squared-circle...but it damn sure will be the last time! That's right fans, you heard me right...this coming Friday night one of these phenomonal SWF Superstars will walk the aisle one last time...and then will never be seen in the SWF ring again.
This match will not only decide the fate of one of these SWF superstars, but it will also set the course for the new era of the Superstar Wrestling Federation. This match basically boils down to the "old school" mentality vs. "new generation" of wrestling, so it only stands to reason that the federation itself will be forced to adapt to the direction of the man that wins this match! Will "The Attitude" be victrious as he has been so many times before, or can the high-flying Trik Nasty overcome all the odds and defeat the multi-time champion? One thing is for damn sure...after Final Fury 2002, the SWF will never be the same again!
One advantage that Trik Nasty may have going into this match is, The Attitude will also be defending his SWF Hardcore Championship earlier in the night...against Dude Rock. This match was supposed to take place two months ago, but due to a scheduling conflict with the Dude Rock World Tour, Dude was unable to make it to that match. Runyon had stated in the past that he would give Dude Rock a shot at the title "anytime, anywhere"...but come on...what the hell is Runyon thinking? Why would Runyon risk getting hurt in a hardcore match just minutes before the most important match of his life? I don't know fans, but I will personally be at ringside for this one!
It is also now a know fact that "Too Sexy" Sean Casey has signed an open contract to defend his SWF American Championship against anyone willing to step in the ring with him. As many of you know, Casey won the championship last month from Randy "The King" Allen, in a bloody match that saw interference from both Casey's manager Phil Phair and from special guest referee The Lovely Erin. Will The King step up to the plate and try to take back what is rightfully his at Final Fury 2002? One would think so...but I have heard that there may be yet another SWF superstar that is already planning to sign on the dotted line to take Casey on. Hmmmmm....this one could get very interesting fans!
So, if The King does get knocked out of facing Casey...who will he face at Final Fury 2002? Well, rumor has it that "Damn Fine" Jason Taylor has been overheard saying that he would love to get in the ring and prove once and for all who the REAL "superpimp" of the SWF is. Reportedly, The King has made a few comments lately regarding Damn Fine's valet, and that she should be with him, not Damn Fine. Could this situation explode at Final Fury 2002?
Rumor also has it that several superstars from Ohio Championship Wrestling will be making their debut in the SWF ring at Final Fury 2002. This past weekend, several SWF superstars... The Attitude, Trik Nasty, Max Power, Tank, Vile, Great Mecco, & The Mastermind...made their debut on an OCW show in Coal Grove, Ohio...and now the OCW superstars are reportedly planning to "invade" the SWF this coming Friday night. Some of the names that I have heard mentioned include: Scott Powers, Sunny Landel, The Wildman...and of course, Beautiful Bobby L. & Meltdown. Look for the OCW superstars to make quite an impact on the SWF roster once they debut.
In another continuing story, Steve the Referee and SWF Commissioner The Mastermind were supposedly involved in some sort of confrontation this past weekend at the OCW event. I don't know for sure what happened, but I do know that The Mastermind stated earlier this week that he will be on-hand this coming Friday at Final Fury 2002...and that he has a huge surprise in store for the SWF's Head Referee.
Also, we will see the SWF debut of two more awesome superstars, as "The Specialist" Steve Dunn will go head-to-head with Static D. If these names sound familiar...they should. Both of these men have been making a name for themselves the past few months in Ohio Valley Wrestling, which just happens to be a WWF Developmental Territory. Why have these two men decided to bring their fued to the SWF? Could it be that they are only the first wave of OVW wrestlers to be making their way to the SWF? Could be fans, but the only way to find out for sure is to be there live this coming Friday night!
And fans, from there we will also witness a Three-Way Dance to decide the #1 Conteder to the SWF Heavyweight Championship. Very little information has leaked out about this one fans, but The Informer is reporting today that the match could include Vile, who actually won the title at Anarchy a few weeks ago and then was stripped of the title later in the night. Also rumored to be in this match is Tank Runyon, who came very close to taking the title from The Attitude at Awesome April, and Max Power, who has been petitioning the Board of Directors for a shot at the title over the past month. The winner of this match will go on to face the champion, whoever that may be, next month.
Also, don't forget that SWF Owner Big Daddy Doom is now back in the states after his phenomonal tour of Japan. Will Big Daddy Doom be in the house this coming Friday night? Will he get involved in the massive career vs. career match between The Attitude and Trik Nasty...or will he be there to use one of the SWF superstars as a "warm-up" before his return to Japan? There's only one way to find out fans, and that's to be there live this coming Friday night, May 3, 2002 at the Cherokee Bingo Hall in Lucasville, Ohio!
