The show opens with Tenay telling us that Callis must wrestle Eric Watts
with the winner getting to keep their job. All wrestlers can watch, but
they have to be handcuffed in pairs to avoid interference. WOW! JUST WHAT
FANS WANTED! For pitty sake, that is lame.Watts is in the ring talking about his match next week. Watts then talks
about the America's X Cup and that he brought someone back to lead the
team. JERRY LYNN! Jerry comes out to a WELCOME BACK chant from the
fans. It is about time he got off his ass and stopped bad mouthing TNA.
Good pick up by TNA. Kid Kash comes out with his clipboard to confront
Jerry Lynn. Kash insults the Juggalows in the crowd before telling Lynn
he didn't deserve to be treated the way Watts and TNA treated him. Kash
goes on and on before asking Lynn to sign with Team Jarrett. Lynn takes
the clipboard and pretends to sign. Instead he clocks Kash over the head
with it and the two start brawling on the outside.
Hudson in back in the office of Jeff Jarrett. He is talking to his
lawyer's brother who tells him that the stipulation stands for the
Watts/Callis match. Callis is very upset about it, but Jarrett says he
has a plan.
Mitchell video package on the Gathering vs Balls/Sandman match later tonight.
Match One: The Gathering (CM Punk/Julio Dinero) vs Balls Mahoney &
Sandman
During the match, Tenay announces Lynn, Sabin, Skipper, and Dutt will be
part of the TNA team for the America's X Cup. Punk and DInero win the
match and then get on the mic and thenthe lights go out and the PA spits
out "QUOTE THE RAVEN!" over and over again. Sounded like they were having
PA problems, but I guess it was supposed to be that way. Anyway, then
Sandman canes both men and that is it.
Hudson in back with Young and Gilberti asking why Gilberti did what he
did. Gilberti said that without him those two bums would be nothing and
that he gave them their opportunity to be part of Team Jarrett, but they
said no. Gilberti said that one of them signed and one didn't, proving
that they aren't on the same team after all, but he wouldn't say which
signed and which didn't.
Match Two: Glen Gilberti & David Young vs Simon Diamond & Johnny
Swinger
Diamond/Swinger win the match with the Problem Solver. They looked right
on task and showed no signs of decention.
After the match, Kash is seen dragging Sara, the ticket lady, by the hair
to the ring. She starts to sign under duress and then Tiny, the
timekeeper comes in and takes off his shirt and beats on Kash until Kash
nails him with the clip board. Gilberit and Young go after Sara, but
Vaughn comes out to help her. Then it is Kash, Gilberti and Young working
over Vaughn as Sara and Tiny sit in the corner. Don Harris comes in to
make the save.
Outside a limo is seen with hot babes coming out. Tenay says it must be
Johnny Faircrap.
Hudson in back with Hudson admonishing Trinity for signing with Jarrett.
He has a match with D'Lo.
Match Three: Sonny Siaki w/Trinity vs D'Lo Brown
Despite Trinity's best efforts, D'Lo still wins with the sky High. Not
the best match, but not terrible either. Kash comes down to get Siaki to
sign the clip board. Siaki keeps saying no, but Kash insists. Siaki
takes the board and asks the crowd if he should sign. Siaki takes the pen
and tosses the board to the mat. Then Trinity turns on Siaki and helps
beat on him.
Jarrett in back with Red Shirts and Callis. Trinity comes back and is
congratulated by the team, but she says she wants nothing to do with Kash.
Recap of Douglas, Triple X stuff from last week.
Match Four: Christopher Daniels & Elix Skipper vs Shane Douglas &
Michael Shane w/Tracy Brooks
Supposedly this was a handicap match, but I guess it was changed to a tag
match. Weird. Best match of the night so far for sure. TNA Chants in
play. Skipper took a sick bump off the top through for chairs on the
arena floor with Tracy on his back. OUCH! Daniels hits the last rights
with no ref, Douglas nails Daniels with a chain and Shane covers him for
the win.
3LK is back with their vignettes making fun of all tag teams in TNA.
Pretty funny stuff.
Match Five: America's Most Wanted vs The Red Shirts
Storm was basically getting ass whipped the whole match by both members of
the Red Shirts. The Red Shirts did some classic heel stuff, like pulling
Harris off the apron as Storm goes for the tag. This match was pretty fun
to watch. As the match came to a close, The Naturals came out and threw
white powder in the eyes of Harris and then hit him with a chair to give
the win to the Red Shirts!
Hudson in the back with Mitchell and the Gathering. Mitchell dares Raven
to come out and play as he sets up another Sandman vs Gathering match for
next week. I guess Sandman promised a new partner too. They are begging
for it to be Raven.
Callis in the ring to introduce the big waste of five straight weeks of
anticipation himself! JOHNNY FAIRPLAY! Barely any crowd reaction on the
announcement. What little there was is boos, probably not for the man,
but for the waste of time. That is my opinion, but you never know. He
does have a wrestling background, so maybe he will work out. He comes out
looking like a dipshit of course. Nice freakin hair buddy. Tenay says it
seems like the crowd at the Asylum appear to know Johnny very well...
um... not from what I hear pal. As Johnny cuts his attempt at a promo on
the fans, they start to chant ICP! LMAO! Then I spot my buddy NeoRaven
in the front row with a sign promoting this guy! NEO! What happened?
Thankfully, AJ interrupts this guy buy coming out with a chair. AJ asks
who he is. Fans begin to chant "Who Are You" for the second time this
segment. AJ tells him he looks like Carrot Top's evil twin! LMAO! AJ
asks why he is talking in his ring to his people. AJ then wants to know
when he is getting his title shot, but Johnny interupts him. As he talks,
AJ spits at him! Johnny pushes it too far and AJ lunges for him, but
Callis stops him and tells him that it is Johnny's first day and tells AJ
to leave. AJ then attacks Callis, but Fairplay takes the chair and runs
it into the back of AJ. Callis holds AJ, but AJ kicks out and nails
Fairplay with a vicious powerbomb! He just slammed him to the mat! VERY
GOOD TO SEE THAT!
Tenay and West talk about the main event for tonight. West then hypes TNA
On Demand and Tenay hypes the countdown show. Then there is a disturbance
in the crowd and ICP is spotted by West and Tenay. Next week 3LK vs Red
Shirts, Shane vs Sabin, Watts vs Callis (which Tenay calls the biggest
match in TNA history. LMAO! Yeah right, Mike.)
Watts in back with El Leon, who suddenly has a darker complexion and a
tatoo! Watts announces that Brian Urlacher will be at TNA next week.
Match Six: Street Fight - El Leon vs Jeff Jarrett
Jarrett has been wearing a T-Shirt from the first TNA era promoting the
TNA world premeire show. Maybe it is a hint that El Leon is Apollo or
Shamrock? It is official, that is Apollo folks. He grew taller, darker
and has the tatoo of Apollo. Good move to bring him back if you ask me.
During the match, Jarrett shoves Tenay, and then confronts ICP and then
clocks Apollo, I mean El Leon, with a chair then turns back to ICP to get
sprayed with soda and beer! He was drenched in it. Jarrett goes for his
guitar, but Tenay grabs it away from him. Jarrett eventually gests the
guitar and nails El Leon and says he is going to unmasked him. As he
attempts to unmask, AJ Styles comes down to help. Andrew Thomas decides
to throw the match out, even though it was a street fight. Abyss then
comes down and nails AJ with the torture rack back breaker. Abyss grabs a
table and sets it up. Styles fights off Abyss, but can't maintain
controll as Abyss picks AJ up and slams him over the top rope and into the
table. Jarrett's music blares as they leave El Leon alone? Jarrett tells
Tenay that after next week he will also be out of a job! The show ends at
that point and we still don't get the masked man unmasked.
Overall, I didn't care for this show much. There were high points and low
points in the show, but the low points were more notable. Only two good
matches tonight and a lot of poor backstage stuff that really didn't catch
my interest tonight. It would have been better if they ended it with us
finding out who El Leon is, but I guess we wait longer now. Maybe now
they will change it from Apollo to someone else since it was pretty
obvious the masked man changed to Apollo tonight.
