The show starts with a video history of Russo in TNA and his struggles with
Jeff Jarrett. The Macho Man's music isn't used tonight for the intro. The
Jan 7th version is playing instead.Tenay is back at the announce table which is kinda a bummer because Hudson
was great. Borash is back as well.
Match One: Juventud Guerrera vs Petey Williams vs Jerry Lynn
Looks like TNA pulled Teddy Hart after his brawl with Punk earlier today.
They claimed Hart has a knee injury and D'Amore is holding him off tonight.
Teddy and his team are at the entrance watching and you can see the nice
bruise Teddy got from Punk. Hart has a crutch with him. Petey Williams
gets the win for Team Canada in a pretty sweet match.
Video of Bill Apter awarding AMW the tag team of the year award from Total
Wrestling Magazine. And then showing Bill giving the Innovative Federation
of the Year award to Mike Tenay on behalf of TNA.
Tenay is in the ring talking about Russo saying he is going to do the right
thing for TNA and to keep Jarrett in check. Russo then comes down to some
new music. Russo gets a bit emotional when he begins to talk about his
wife, Amy, asking him how it got to the point it got. Russo said that he
deserved every chair shot he got from Jarrett because 10 years ago when he
joined wrestling he sold his soul to the devil by selling out to TV ratings.
Sex, nudity, vulgarity (fans clap) he isn't proud of any of that. Russo
says that it was his decision to put undertaker on a cross and he isn't
proud of that either. He says that today he is a changed man (BULLSHIT!
chant starts). Russo says that he needs to ask his peers forgiveness and
Jarrett's music hits and the champ comes down. Jarrett comes down and
berates Vince and says that he is up to something and after something...
Jarrett's forgiveness. Jarrett says that all he has to do is ask him for
it. Jarrett then tells Vince that if he wants to be on his side, just ask.
Vince says that it isn't like that anymore because the curtain is about to
come down on the Jeff Jarrett show. They had their run, but now it is time
for Jarrett to pass the torch and give others a chance. Give it to those
who earned it to which Jarrett gets all pissed off about. Jarrett says it
is his turn and he earned it. Jarrett says that it is about time for Vince
to take another beating for the team and shoves him to the mat. He then
gets up in Vince's face and tells him to show him something. He then slaps
the taste out of Vince's mouth. Vince gets up and says that he has shown
them everything that they need to see and tells Jarrett to enjoy his night
off because one man's dream is about to become reality. Interesting segment
Hudson in back with Too Tough Tony with the ICP
Video package about Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger.
Match Two: Johny Swinger vs Simon Diamond
Swinger wins the match after clocking Diamond with a taped object, but out
comes Rudy Charles to complain and restart the match. I really don't see
how they can justify doing this all the time for the good guys, but not give
a crap about the bad guys getting beat with foreign objects. Anyway, the
match goes on and there really isn't much crowd reaction. Swinger tries to
use the object again, but the ref stops him. Gilberti and troops come out
and attack Diamond for the DQ ending. Then Too Tough Tony comes out and
helps Diamond. The fight doesn't last long as Gilberti, Kash and Young take
charge. Rudy Boy then comes out and he gets whipped on by Team Jarrett.
Kash slams a chair over the heads of both JCW wrestlers. They then place
the steel chair on the face of Diamond as Kash climbs the ropes, but the
black shirts come out to clear the ring. We lose the Red Shirts and the
Black shirts come back.
Hudson in back with the Franchise. Jarrett comes out and ask Shane what
that crap was all about with Russo. Douglas says you can't trust Russo as
far as you can throw him. Franchise says that if Jarrett needs them they
are there.
Match Three: Shane Douglas & Michael Shane vs Ron Killings & Konnan
Dammit, why do they do this to us? Konnan wrestling?? This shows value
seems to keep going down with every match. Good news is it can only get
better after this match. The match goes to the outside where Douglas gets
in BG's face and BG takes him on. YES! Konnan had the Tequila Sunrise on
Shane and Tracy clocked him allowing Shane to hit the super kick for the
win!
After the match, Killings and Konnan get into an arguement and BG has to
cool them down.
In the back, Hudson interviews AMW about the Harris vs Stevens match
tonight.
Match Four: Chase Stevens vs Chris Harris
Harris gets the win on Stevens and immediately after the match, Russo orders
Harris vs Andy Douglas. Russo watches on from the entrance ramp. Harris
gets the win with a roll up after getting beat on most of the second match.
Russo then comes down and tells something to Borash. Borash orders another
match for Harris. This time it is a handicap match! Storm comes down all
pissed, but Russo talks to Storm and he seems to understand and Storm then
goes down to cheer Harris on. Storm clocks Chase stevens with a chair will
the ref is distracted and Harris wins his third match of the night. Now why
isn't there a ref restarting this one?
Video package on Raven and the Gathering
Hudson in back with Russo asking about what he was doing to Harris tonight.
Harris then comes out and gets in his face about what was going on and says
"Changed man my ass!" Russo then tells Harris that he knows what Harris
wants, but he isn't ready yet. His job is to get Harris ready and that on
March 17th Harris has his title shot against Jeff Jarrett, but in the next
21 days Harris will hate Russo more than anything else. But, at the end of
this story Harris will have everything he ever dream of. Russo then extends
his hand and Harris shakes it. NICE! I like where this is going.
Match Five: The Gathering vs Raven & Sabu
Tenay informs us that this is the first time ever that Raven and Sabu have
been in the same ring together. That is pretty amazing if you ask me. All
that time they spent in ECW and never in the same ring? Raven hits the
Raven Effect DDT in a pretty good match. Lots of good spots by Sabu with
chairs.
After the match, Raven gets on the mic saying to Jarrett that he can't be
stopped and that he still remembers his destiny and that he is coming for
Jarrett. Raven asks what about him and his title shot. Good stuff
Hudson in back with AJ Styles talking about his upcoming tables match. Next
week both men will pick their partners. The winner will pick his tag
champion partner, the loser his number one contenders partner for a match
next week.
Tenay and West go over March 10's America's X Cup show. Next week a group
from Team Japan has issued a challenge to Team TNA and they will wrestle
next week, ICP will be there tracking down Gilberti, Young and Kash, and
Russo has something in store for Harris next week... but he also has
something in store for Jeff Jarrett. Also next week, tag title match
Abyss/Partner vs AJ Styles/Partner.
Hudson in back with Johnny Fairplay, Lollipop introduces him. He says there
is not show this week because of what AJ Styles did last week and tonight he
has a suprise for AJ. He says "Possibly a run in by my grandma, but no
she's not alive"
Match Six: Tables Match - AJ Styles vs Abyss
To win you have to put your opponent through two tables. WOW! Abyss puts
AJ through the first table with and overhead slam out of the ring into the
table. That was impressive. AJ comes off a table in the ring, and lands on
Abyss' shoulders and hurricanrana's Abyss through a table on the outside!
It is all evened up at one table each now. As AJ goes to get Abyss,
Fairplay comes out and moves the table and runs to AJ who kicks him in the
nuts and hits a Styles clash on Fairplay. AJ goes and hits a springboard
flip into Abyss on the table but the table doesn't break. AJ tries again
and it doesn't break again! AJ splashes off the top rope and the table
finally breaks, but the ref is out cold! LEX LUGER!!! LEX LUGER!!! LEX
LUGER!!! Lex comes out and press slams AJ out of the ring through a table
and shows the ref. Abyss is the winner! Luger racks AJ Styles as the show
comes to a close. NICE ENDING!
