The show kicks off outside the asylum as AJ Styles gets out of his car with
the belt and his gear all dressed up. He says he wants to make an
announcement tonight about the title.
Match One: Team Mexico (Hector Garza/Mr. Aguila/Abismo Negro/Heavy Metal)
vs Team USA (Jerry Lynn/Chris Sabin/Christopher Daniels/Elix Skipper)
Before the match gets started, Team Canada boss Scott D'Amore is seeing at
the entrance watching. Lynn and Heavy Metal start things off fast. D'Amore
joins the announcers and tells us Petey Williams is now the team captian and
the team has been changed a bit. Next week the winner of this match will
face Team Canada. D'Amore rips on Jerry Lynn for being a terrible team
captian and says switching a member wasn't the answer for Team USA. I got
to say it is good to see Sabin back in the ring on PPV. Really solid match
as Daniels rolls up Mr. Aguila for the win. I love this new Team NWA!!!
Mike Tenay calls down the NEW champion AJ Styles. He thanks TNA for letting
him be the World Champion. He also thanks the fans. Of course he announces
that due to the injuries from the cage match he will not be wrestling this
week, but next week he will defend the title. He won't hide behind the
title and because of that he will defend the title next week against Raven!
At this time 3LK comes out to confront AJ. Why BG James has the mic I don't
know. BG says he is a fan of AJ, but he can't be serious if he thinks he
can represent the NWA... Satellite interuption.... Comes back with Russo in
the ring talking to 3LK. BG, Konnan and Ron bring up crap from back in the
WWE and WCW. I hate when they do this stuff. BG wants Raven taken out of
the title match and Killings put in it. Konnan then shoves Russo asking
what he has done for the 3LK lately. AJ breaks it up and says that he needs
to break up that family reunion and tells Killings he will give the Truth a
shot. Truth asks when and AJ says "how about an hour?" Tonight AJ Styles
vs Ron Killings for the NWA World Title!
Video package on the Tag Title match tonight.
Match Two: NWA Tag Title Match - Kid Kash/Dallas vs D'Lo Brown/Apollo
The brawl starts before the intros can be done. All four men are going at
it outside. Kash sprints to the ring and goes for the nightstick, but D'Lo
stops him and the bell rings. Nightstick falls from the pole as Dallas is
sent to the corner. OUCH! Andrew Thomas goes to get the nightstick back up
shortly after as the brawl continues in the ring. Andrew Thomas doens't
want to put it up.. what a baby! Anyway, Chris Vaughn finally gets it back
up. Back to the match and Dallas is in control. The nightstick falls down
again! Dallas moves to grab the stick, but it isn't there! Now they say
the wrestler who touches the top of the pole will get the nightstick from
Andrew Thomas. LAME! Apollo climbs and touches the top of the pole. Thomas
gives him the nightstick, but Kash drops Apollo with a dropkick to the
knees. The stick is loose and Kash picks it up, but gets clocked by D'Lo
Brown and the stick falls outside. D'Lo gets it and clocks Kash and Dallas
with it. Apollo helps toss D'Lo over the top rope into Dallas. D'Lo hits
his head on the landing, but is ok. Dallas eventually gets the nightstick
and clocks Apollo allowing Kash to wrap his legs up for the win.
Video package for Abyss
Scott Hudson in the back looking for Abyss and Goldy comes out. Hudson says
he must have caught her before makeup! LMAO! Goldy claims she has been in
Barbados the last few weeks and he must be crazy.
Match Three: Abyss vs Sabu
Decent match between the two as Sabu comes off the top and puts Abyss
through the table with a leg drop. Goldy comes out then and tells Abyss to
get up. She then stops the ref from getting in the ring as Sabu has Abyss
down. The ref tries to get in and Goldy slaps him! Sabu grabs Goldy and
drags her in the ring, but Abyss makes the save. Goldy tells Abyss to get
Sabu and the ref tries to get Goldy out of the ring. Abyss tosses the ref
aside and he lands square on the chair. Thomas calls for the bell and Abyss
is DQed. Abyss begins to choke out Sabu with his chain when out from the
back comes Eric Watts! He takes a belt to Abyss and Goldy flees the ring.
Video on Desire's back injury and return last week.
Hudson in back with Desire, Siaki and Diamond. Diamond says they have 3
broken chain links. He has a broken friendship, Desire a broken back, and
Siaki broken promises. Simon says his real name is Pat Kenny and he is 100%
irish. Um... Okay.
Match Four: Glenn Gilberti/Johnny Swinger/Trinity vs Simon Diamond/Sonny
Siaki/Desire
Great to see Desire back. She is by far TNAs best woman talent. Trinity is
great, but Desire is hotter and very talented. Before the match, all three
get on the mic and rip the other team members. Trinity calls their little
group the N.Y.C. I guess Simon Diamond will now be going by Pat Kenny, his
real name. Not the greatest match, but still great to see Desire working
again. She picks up the pin on Trinity to give Kenny, Siaki and Desire the
victory.
Raven has comendeared a cameraman in his layer. He demands the cameraman
focus on him. He says he has been called a lot of things, but he has never
been called a liar. He came through on everything he said he would. He
tells Russo that he lied to him, and he is going to pay for what he did.
Hudson in back with James Storm. I just don't care much for this guy as a
singles man. Thankfully, Kash interrupts him. James says something but
Kash says he doesn't care because Kash and Dallas will go down as the
greatest tag team in TNA history which means they are better than Storm and
Harris ever were. Storm proceeds to beat on Kash.
Match Five: Raven vs James Storm
Storm is just beating the holy hell out of Raven in the begining of the
match. Finally after about 3 minutes of beat down Raven gets some offense
in. Raven goes on to work on Storm's left arm now. As Storm starts to get
the advantage we see Dallas in the entranceway staring towards the ring.
Storm hits the superkick and Dallas gets in and distracts the referee. Kash
comes in and nails James Storm with the nightstick allowing Raven to hit the
Even Flow for the win.
After the match Kash and Dallas beat Storm down. Here comes D'Lo to make
the save.
Video from Jeff Jarrett talking about what happened last week. Jarrett
mentions his rematch clause and he will exercise it, but the big question is
when. He doesn't care who the champion is when he exercises his rematch
clause because he will regain his title. Good video package.
West and Tenay plug the website and the gut check again. Next week: Trinity
vs Desire, Team NWA vs Team Canada, Shane Douglas vs Michael Shane w/Tracy,
AJ Styles vs Raven, Sonjay Dutt vs Amazing Red.
Video package on the New Franchise fall out.
Hudson in back, but before he can tell us why Watts comes in looking for
Goldy. He says that Goldy has stolen his credit cards and racked them up.
He has been working three jobs to pay off all the bills. Hudson asks if he
is sure it is Goldy Locks and he says he knows it was her. Goldy then gets
in there and calls Watts a liar. They get into a shouting match until Abyss
comes out and attacks Watts. They battle outside as Abyss puts Watts
through a table. Many Goldy is annoying...
Match Six: NWA World Title Match - AJ Styles vs Ron "The Truth"
Killings
The Truth has some great hat hair going on tonight... The match ends when AJ
gets a sweet pin and two refs make the count?? Double pin... Russo is
conferencing with the referees to see the winner. Because there was not
decisive winner the match must continue... phew... at least they didn't hold
the title up. A series of near falls proceeds and AJ is able to roll up
Killings for the winner literally less than a minute after the restart. AJ
is still the champion. Poor finish if you ask me. 3LK are pissed about it,
but that is all there is too it.
After the match AJ is having words with 3LK from the entrance ramp and Raven
comes out and attacks AJ. A brawl ensues between the two men that will meet
next week. Raven hits the Even Flow DDT on AJ and stands over the fallen AJ
with the belt as the show goes off the air.
Overall an decent PPV just above average.
