Winters’ Storm-Vengeance Letdown

Can’t say it was the best PPV I have watched, course they haven’t been that good for a long time. But I will comment on each match and give my opinions on them as well.

Air Boom vs. Swagger and Ziggler….I was hoping that Swagller would have pulled off the win, but alas, I was incorrect. It wasn’t too bad of a showing for all of them and it started the PPV off for the night. I still like how Bourne shoots off the top rope and gets that high into the air. It looks like a scary move that not too many men can accomplish. In my opinion it was about a 7 out of 10 stars.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Zach Ryder….it was actually my hope that Ryder would have won this match, but alas it didn’t work out that way. Okay match….4 out of 10 stars.

HHH and CM Punk vs. The Miz and R-Truth….it wasn’t the ending that I had expected, but I wasn’t surprised that Kevin Nash had something to do with the outcome of the match. So in other words, Awesome Truth wins the match because Nash hit HHH outside of the ring which in turn distracted Punk which led to the loss of HHH and Punk. It does help the storyline along so that HHH can feud with Nash and CM Punk can go against Del Rio. At best I give this match a 5 out of 10 stars.

I know I should have been thrilled with how Big Show and Mark Henry occurred, but it is too familiar with what I saw when Big Show wrestled against Brock Lesnar. You can go onto Youtube and see it for yourself. In other words, the match didn’t continue after the ring “imploded” so there was no real winner for this one. It was kind of a typical Henry match, it receives a 4 out of 10 stars.

Beth Phoenix vs. Eve Torres…short, horrible, not worth my time….1 out of 10 stars.

Sheamus vs. Christian…..Lots of back and forth action for this one. I will always enjoy a Christian match. Sheamus puts on a hell of a showing too and that helps for him to hit his Brogue Kick for the win over Christian. I didn’t see a decisive win for either man and figured this would go on for awhile as far as a storyline feud goes, I was way off on this match. 7.5 out of 10 stars.

Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes….Of course Orton had to win. It was quite awhile since he did in a PPV, so winning against Rhodes was no surprise. Besides, it was a non title match, so Rhodes didn’t lose anything, if anything it helped to move him along as far as a better performer is concerned. The RKO showed its face and Orton got his win. 6.5 out of 10 stars.

Cena vs. Del Rio in a Last Man Standing match in a “collapsed ring”…..It wasn’t so bad, but lets be real here, Cena doesn’t have that many wrestling moves in his arsenal. His quick recoveries are still too much for this guy to deal with. At least Rodriguez was helping Del Rio in the match. Much as some people don’t like Del Rio, I like the guy. When you are going against Cena, the cards are stacked against you anyways. He is a popular performer and WWE doesn’t necessarily want their cash cow to be too buried during a match. I give kudos to Del Rio in this match, he was taking a lot of bumps. Okay, so was Cena…but Del Rio was taking more. Rodriguez was taking some hits as well, and that was entertaining too. Going outside of the ring to the back added a little something to the match. Dropping the rectangle back-drops onto Cena were funny, and of course Cena comes back from that but then Rio pushes Cena through a letter V sign and puts him on a table to finish the job. The quick recovery for Cena meant Del Rio got put through the table-another bump for Rio as well. Need I say the announce tables were taken out this night too? Then we have Awesome-Truth come and take Cena. Del Rio used the title belt to ring the bell of Cena, so Rio thankfully wins this match. I hate to say it, but the match rates about a 7 out of 10 stars.

I wouldn’t say this PPV was one for the ages. It really wasn’t. There were no big surprises for me and to have to tune into Raw on Monday night to see the after math of the show, won’t be on my to do list. Have you ever heard the saying, “Leave them wanting more?” Vengeance PPV did not do this for me. Course I wouldn’t say the Packer vs. Viking game was all that good either. Sure the Packs won, but not by much…all in all tonight was a letdown in sports. Gotta say this about it all….”Meh.”

I will say The Walking Dead was a pretty damn good episode tonight, so at least something worked out….

That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time……
