WWE Releases 10 Wrestlers

WWE have announced the release of 10 superstars.

WWE announced via its website Thursday that Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Kalisto, Mojo Rawley, Bo Dallas, and Wesley Blake have been released from the company.

Samoa Joe was removed from the Raw commentary team after WrestleMania 37. Joe hadn’t wrestled for over a year due to concussion issues.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, best known as The IIconics were split up last year as a team. Former Women’s Tag Team Champions, Kay took part in WrestleMania 37, teaming with Carmella in the Tag Team Turmoil match.

Mickie James had been set to return after being out with am injury. James had been a part of the pre-show panel for NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver nights one and two.

Chelsea Green debuted on SmackDown on November 2020 after being called up from NXT. Green broke her wrist during her debut and had been out of action but due to return. Green had reportedly signed a three year deal with the company.

Tucker was best known as one half of Heavy Machinery with Otis, before being broken up as a team last year and rarely used since.

Kalisto was a member of The Lucha House Party and was a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the WrestleMania 37 edition of SmackDown.

Blake was formerly a member of The Forgotten Sons and Baron Corbin’s Knights of The Lone Wolf. Blake also held the NXT Tag Team titles with Murphy in NXT.

Bo Dallas is a former three-time NXT Champion before moving to the WWE main roster. Dallas predominantly teamed with Curtis Axel, who was released by the company last year.

Mojo Rawley was a part of the Hype Bros tag team with Zack Ryder who was released last year. Rawley last wrestled ON WWE television in June 2020.

The latest round of releases were announced on the one-year anniversary of WWE’s April 2020 roster cuts.
